Oil pressure

how much is too much? if you have high oil pressure would using a thinner oil be a bad way to try and lower it?

right now cruiseing when the temps are low my oil pressure is aorund 70-75 psi....when the temps go up a little more its around 65 or so.

thats not bad really. Is it a stock LS1 and what weight oil are you using?

its a heads and cam motor with a ls6 oil pump (04 gto bottom end). Im useing 5-30 or 10-30 i forgot which oil i used on this motor because i just got it running. i can check the bottles tomorrow.

what if my oil reads 60 when i start the car but then goes down to 40 or lower? need to change the oil pump?

i just used penzoil 5w-30, so i guess i should change to 10w-30?? any suggestions on what brands?

what does mike give you from the dealership? i got a case from him and i think it is 10-w30. also i think the gauge is fine.

My car idles at ~45 and goes to around 60 when cruising.

Mine is 65 at idle, and 80+ anything over 2500 rpms. I dont know where to look. I verified the pressure with a mechanical gauge and the pressure is 65psi at idle.
