So your AC compressor died because you floored it? That's weird .

They don't like high rpms, is what I was told. But my car shifts at the stock shift points, I thought it was weird too.

I thought the A/C disabled at WOT, but I wonder with the stall, and also it rained last night in Melbourne, so the car reved extremly fast (it down shifted too first and spun like hell) it didn't shut off? I don't know, but damn I was pissed off.....

But o-well, I'll fix it

A/C should cut out at about 4000RPM (by tune
settings) or 100% TPS, and only re-engage at
0% TPS. So if you had a TPS problem you might
not see it work again until after key off. Is the
compressor observably blown, or just not seeing
the clutch engage?

It makes a mean noise when the AC is turned on, followed by the engine stalling.

Its fried, like someones under the hood with a hammer. Then like VSG says, engine dies. Worked fine till the **** with the SUV, right after i let off the gas after the 1>2 shift it was moking noise. Shut off the A/C and it went away, turned the A/C back on and all hell broke loose.

if you end up with a used compressor.. the V7's our cars come with are VERY fragile.. they have a variable dissplacement capability so they do not cycle and can not put up with any sort of moisture at all.. if you get a compresor thats been disconnected for a while have it rebuilt.. or its not going to last long.. the teflon rings will strip off the pistons if they encounter any cylinday wall surface rust at all...

also make sure you replace the accumulator and tube..

speaking of i know a guy.. who sells all these parts.. OEM.. hmm.....

LOL

have you checked to see if its maybe just the clutch??
alot of times just the clutch goes and starts clanking really bad which freiks the knock sensors and you get engine stalling and ****..

Mike, now that you say it. you may be right about the clutch. When the A/C's on making all the noise it still blows cold. And its makes abunch of clanking noise, knock sensors pick it up and the car dies. Or when your driving 50 mph, turn it on, and the knock sensors freak out, pull a ton of timing and the car falls on its face. you guys sell the clutch?

Hey .... guess what.... All I know is some A$$fu{k decided to turn in front of us at wickhamn and lk washington and that is what caused the a/c's demise. We were enjoying the automatic downshift of a LS1 powered vehicle with a/c at the same time. If it weren't for that retarded ignorant 1980's mullet wearing suv driving non-paying attention at a stoplight running "controlled traffic devices" Friday night crusing POS. We were out on a grocery hunt at Albertsons, That would have never happened if the retards in the suv ran out of beer. I'm sorry when someone decides to come towards you, first instinct is to get out of their way. Which He did, at the same time his a/c went 57023487@#$#^#&*^*$%^#$%#@#$
