Default florida TINT

i looked up the state laws about tint and they said 28% on front side window and 15% on back window...i also heard that they can't give you a ticket if it is within 7% of the state requirment is that true?

don't know what exactly the laws are, but I know a couple people running 2.5% and 5% with no issues.

i have had limo on every car i owned and i never have been stopped for it. i think alot has to do with how you drive because i have some friends who drive crazy and they get pulled over quite a bit for their tint. even when i have been stopped for speeding i never get a ticket for my tint.sometimes it pretty much comes down to how you treat the cop when he pulls you over. if you act like an *** then he will pick at your car for whatever he can find. i am not sure about the law but i think if your darker then whats allowed by law they sure can write you a citation. i have also heard people tell me that they can make you remove the tint right there on the side of the road if its too dark.

i have had double llimo tint (cant see **** at night) and never any issues. the only thing cops get mad at (assuming you arent a dick) is the tint on the front windshield.

now if you are out looking for problems....

My Wife was pulled over a couple of years ago by FHP and given a ticket that cost us $85.00. She was pulled over leaving my work. The same Officer worked that stretch of road for a couple of days, pulling over everyone with dark tint. We paid the fine, then drove the car for two more years with the same tint.

it depends. he can give u a fix ticket in which u have to remove it and u dont pay the ticket or he can give u one for improper/ malfunctioning equipment and its like $60 and it will go against u. it raised my insurance $75 a month from that 1 ticket.

If you have a hardtop you might be surprised at how dark 30% sides / 15% back can be. That's what I have, and with the t-top shades in it's pretty damn dark. Not limo, but no risk to it.

We're kinda lucky here in Florida with the cops, in other states the cops are **** with the tints. I tinted my bucket truck with 2.5%, and no problems.

NC cops are DICKS about Tint...especially on the front windows. Everywhere you look here people have very little or no tint on fronts. Never had an issue in FL.

It had no effect on our insurance rates when my Wife was ticketed for dark tint.

We are lucky here that it's not strongly enforced. When I lived in Louisiana we couldn't get away with it due to yearly inspections.

When I first moved to Florida I was speaking with an off duty Officer about the tint. he said that his agency rarely ticketed anyone for the tint, but would use it as a means to pull people over sometimes. He advised me to always roll both windows down when pulled over. They don't like to approach a car that can't be seen into.
