Default Officers Chime In

Ok, I basically I just want to know one thing, and for laughs possibly, another.

First off, for laughs, what is the smallest amount of mph over the posted speed limit you have ever written a ticket for(excluding ones were it was under, due to weather/driving conditions).

Second, how much does rain and weather factor in to you pulling someone over and writing a ticket? Excluding any major laws being broken etc. Like, if it is raining pretty steady, and im going 10-15 over, maybe more, or I run a redlight etc, are you going to not pull me over because it is raining or what?

These are just questions out of curiosity.

Well son, If I was the Law I would pull you over and write you a big *** ticket if you are in the Escort! Why are you asking these questions anyways?

rain enhances everything....alot of guys wont pull people over bc they dont want to get wet....which is true...but you can tell whos not driving appropiately for the weather, thus...those are the people who are going to cause the wrecks....= ticket

Like he said. It all depends on the situation and what the driver is doing. Something as dangerous as 15 over on a road with heavy traffic in the rain, or running a stop light, etc definately warrants you to be pulled over, even in the rain. Personally I don't like giving tickets for speeding on anything under 15 over since i'm just a patrol deputy and not on the traffic squad.

whats the bitch job of new officers, deputies, ect. on any kind of force? like for example you start serving at a restuarant and the first few weeks you are there you get all the crappy shifts where you make nothing in tips.

^^^not so much position as where you are....some departments want to put you in the thickness...break you in fast...thats good but its rough....everyone starts out as a deputy though and they usually have a year of probation..then you can start putting in for something else

^^ That's pretty much how it goes. Never really had a problem here with harassing the new guys except for the little pranks here and there. It's more like they get stuck in the areas other deputies didn't bid for, lol. Then after some time on the road they have more of a say and have a better bid for what zone and shift they wanna work.

true, my big plan is to finish college go into the Air Force hopefully as an officer for 4 years then into law enforcement. And if you are wondering why air force? 1) I've always wanted to go into the air force to be a pilot (that wont happen) and 2) something my family has always been part ever since before it was called the air force and the army controlled most of the planes for the us military! Great grandpa built P-40s then started flying them haha!
