Default lovebugs ahhh!!!

well luckily lovebug season is almost over, but we still have a little bit longer to go..

what are some methods you use to help get them off..

i always keep alot of wax on my front bumper, hood, and mirrors.. and clean them off every night with a 1500psi electric pressure washer, but they still stick on

REMEMBER: thier guts (actually fat) have alot of acid and will destroy your paint if not removed within a short period of time.. im sure everybody knows that but i decided to throw that in anyways

hey bro, listen, i live in gainesville and i found the best way to get the lovebugs off is to get a dryer sheet, you know, bounce sheets or something similar and you wet it, right? andrub the love bugs righ the **** off. it real easy. it doesnt hurt the finish at all. its prolly the best thing you can use and like i said , it takes all that **** off. i use it all the time again and again and again(you get the point) hope i could help

Amway bug and tar remover, Yes Amway. One of the best I ever seen,

Dryer sheet, I've heard of that for many uses, I can't remember them though,

i just stay as close behind to people as i can when I'm driving that way they get most of the lovebugs and my car stays a-ok! Clear bra's also work well.

I try to outbrake them *****.....lol....either that or use my truck. Speaking off, I should probably clean the poor thing, I hate love bugs!

Hmm...so much for driving my car this weekend, it's supposed to rain friday and saturday, there's no way that I'll take my car out after cleaning it for 4 days! If you look for me at Hooters this weekend, look for my truck.... 04 Yellow Colorado.

I hate them. Luckily I don't drive on the highway. I just use a water/soap soaked rag and wipe the ones that do somehow manage to die to my car off when I get home from work or whatever.

Actually get one of those wash mitts with the cheese grater looking thing on the back of it. That works REALLY well. Make sure that there is already soap on there and scrub away. Barely takes any effort, especially if you have wax on the car.

Unfortunately I do have a stain or two from them, but in time I'll get the car repainted and I'll go with the 3M clear bra.

I just spent about 45 minutes cleaning the front of my car. I just got it a few days ago, and there was NO wax on it. Needless to say i'm putting coat after coat on this bitch to avoid this in the future.

I use bug and tar remover with those red shop towels that are somewhat abrasive. soak the towel with the remover stuff and scrub away. for my truck with a chrome front bumper and also white, i drench a sponge with the scrubbing side with a lot of soap until it get all the bugs off. **** it, it's a truck right lol

im not sure how good/bad simple green is for your paint, but i sprayed my car down with the waterhose then sprayed tons of diluted 2:1 simplegreen on it and let it set for 3 or 4 mins.. then took an old but clean microfiber towl and quickly went over the entire front end very lightly... then i just sprayed um all right off with my electric pressure washertook about 6 mins from start to finish

NOTHING is as good as a dryer sheet (aka fabric softener) and water. its teh ONLY thing that will soften the bug guts. try it out and it will amaze you. it gets rid of 90% of the bugs without any scrubing.

Word of caution about 'Simple Green'. I work at an RV dealership and I deal with the nasty coaches that come in for me to save after the customer has washed them with 'Simple Green'. I usually have to block wash, compound, and wax to get a finish back on the paint.

Yes, it is a corrosive, but if used correctly, it's good for wheels and oil, grime, bugs, but just like evrything else! nobody wants to read for themselves, directions that is!

But. thanks for the info,
