Here's pictures of the carnage I took a little earlier today.

Almost looks like the block was spared, and the rod that broke took out only the oil pan, but it looks like the block has a crack in it also. That's a fairly rare failure, it must have spent it's younger years under abusive conditions.

It's broken on the driver's side. You can see it in the block first pic. It's not very large, but if you look at the first picture in the original post you can see there's two puddles of oil and some chucks of block in the oil.

I'd like to know what caused it, but I doubt I'll find out. I'll be keeping this updated.

I could tell you if I saw the shortblock in person. Either a rod broke in half or the rod bolt broke and the cap came off.

I would love to get that from you the problem is that I only have $938 in my bank account. Granted I get paid on Friday, but still probably wouldn't be enough and I'd be completely broke. Then I have to spend a little less than 600 of that to get my trans fixed in my camaro so I have at least something to drive in the mean time.

I'm going to get in touch with him at some point soon. Probably towards this weekend as I'll know how much money I'll have after getting my Camaro fixed and my Friday paycheck. When I get my Formula fixed though it's going to be coming back stronger.

I've already got some 243 castings that I plan on giving a little bit of a home port job to. I'll be selling my diamond -2cc forged pistons for a 3.905 bore. They are for stock 6.098 rods and stock 3.622 stroke. If anyone wants them they are brand new with wrist pins. I don't have the rings for them, but they are NIB. I just opened them to peek, $300 + S&H. I'm also going to try to sell off all the stock parts I have off of my car along with some Gen I SBC stuff I have around the house.

I'd really just like to do a ls2 shortblock rebuilt with ARP rod bolts and head studs, my ported 243 heads, a cam, and a LS7 clutch. We'll see what I can afford though as money is really tight. I'm probably going to have to skimp on the cam and relating parts, but we'll see. This is probably all going to take a few months so I'll keep everyone here updated.

EDIT: , but does anyone know if 295/35/18s fit on a 18x9.5? I searched earlier before it stopped working and read mixed reviews. I also read the sticky in the wheels and tires section that said the recommended max is a 285, but then wasn't sure after reading what others had to say. Thanks.

Excellent to hear. I read some mixed reviews before search whacked out. I should be getting them soon from someone on here used. They've got some tread left, but not much. They're just majorly better than my bald / missing chunks 285s. I post some pics of those when I get them off.

It was off of a used car place on Blanding Blvd. I agree that would blow. I saw the pics of your car that got wrecked. It was pretty gnarly. You're lucky you got out of that pretty well off.

I took some pics of my tires that are on my car now. They're basically dead. Makes sense why it would spin all of first and part of second.

I'm should be getting the 295s soon along with some suspension parts I'm going to start fabricating. I'm also going to start taking some stuff off the car to sell. I have lots of stock parts and a bunch of aftermarket stuff too. I'll be making a parts for sale thread shortly.

I knew the tires were dead that's why I didn't really care about burning them up a little more. The annoying thing is the rubber that ends up on my exhaust tips.

I'm trying to avoid having to take out a loan or borrowing money at all cost. I took a huge zip lock bag of change to a coin star machine earlier. I got $66 out of it plus I still have $30ish dollars in quarters that I'm going to be taking to the bank tomorrow. It's pretty sweet when you realize you have $100 in just change sitting in your room.
