I did it.

It took WAYYY longer than expected because my damn hole saw broke. I spend so much time trying to fix it but ended up just going to Home Depot and buying one.

So just make sure you have a nice strong hole saw, a fully charged drill, and you'll be set.

Whether its worth it or not is totally subjective.

its a nice appearance mod. just make sure you use a decent bi-metal saw, find a gromment to fit the size hole you cut and tape the wires really good. i found it to be well worth the time.

How about some pictures of the final install and what was involved other than cutting a hole. I have always hated looking at the wires.

Not much involved if you plan it right. I cut a rectangular hole big enough for the wire harness to squeeze thru and ran the wires under the fender, sandwitched between the plastic fender liner. No extending/cutting of the wires. I used a drill bit without a hole saw. 4 holes with the drill bit and then a jig saw to cut the rectangle.

I did this. Its a piece of cake. I didn't use any grommet for the hole I cut, I just filed it down enough to where there wasn't a sharp/jagged edge and also protected the wires with the plastic piping. here's photos:
