Help please There is a round thing on the driver's side of my lt1 not the alt. no belt ran to it but it has cooling fins on the back of it what is that? any one know
To see it you have to take the air cleaner out and it's bolted to the right of the water pump
seems afordable in saint augustine fl forgot to bolt it back up I have no clue what it is but the car just blew 3 cooling hoses

It's the air pump. Sounds like a conincidence that you had hoses fail and found that the pump was not bloted up at the same time.
I'd check to see if the pump could have rubbed against anything and also check the condition of the hoses.
