why not just buy my car, $10k, after money spent and time and work involved, you would prolly be better off, plus it is an LS1, and you get my new wheels, all the upgrades, just giving you an idea, do with it what you want

well i really don't want another car john. thanks for the offer. also i really don't want an lt1 that already has something wrong with it either. my uncle had an lt1 and it fast enough for me with a few upgrades. Ls1's are just alot more expensive in the long run. now if somebody can find me one with the wiring and all for a good deal i would definately go that route.

how are ls1's a lot more expensive? generally parts for an ls1 are CHEAPER especially if it's an entire motor/tranny/harness since they are more prevalent. You can't just put an lt1 in there, fire it up and drive away.
you need a tranny, driveshaft, crossmember, rear and fuel tank i believe? all your accessories, etc.
you're looking at roughly 5-6k(probably way more) for a USED setup. you can buy an lt1 z with low mileage for that!

I really dont want to turn this into a LS1LT1 conversation, but, I do agree that just getting an LS1 car with and LS1 is hard to argue against. I love my LT1 but have spent a bunch of my time and money getting it to just about where the LS1 starts out.. hehe.. Learned alot getting there though... its a trade off I guess.

just the joy of having my dream car what i want it to be would be an accomplishment. besides it would be cheaper on insurance this way since its classes as a v6. Plus if i was to get a new vehicle it would be a 4x4 silverado.lol. i am a redneck in need of a truck.

i do love my car but after researching i believe the ls1 would be a better choice. more power for the money and responds better. don't get me wrong an lt1 is good but an ls1 would be sweet. so a ls1 would be the new plan i guess. cheaper does not always mean better

i really don't have 10grand for a car. i would put the 10 grand towards a truck. love your car but a truck would be more practical for me since i do alot of outdoors. and i could probably save money and mod mine if i do what i have in my head.lol. we all know how that works.
