vacation in florida ! I live in ohio(yuck) I know,anyway me and the wife are looking to go to florida for a week or even more ??? just to get away for a while.I might drive the WS6 have not decided yet . We will going sometime in January. I would like to stay around the beach in one area for a week after that dont know. My wifes parents live in winterhaven so we will be there for a couple days to visit some point in time.Idea anyone ?

Winter haven is not to far from old town in kissimme on 192. Thrusday is bike night friday open to new cars and saturday is 72 and older cars. THey have games,shops,food and rides. Or cypress gardens in wither haven.
I'd say Clearwater or Daytona Beach.Clearwater has white sand beaches but Daytona has the Daytona International Speedway you can visit the museum and the beach is just as nice but no white sand.
You will find white sand from Pensacola Bch to Panama City Bch. If
you go to PCB, be sure to look up 02WS6TA-Travis. Always something
going on there. He is the local ring leader over there.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.Iam looking into all of them. Just not sure if I will drive the WS6 or not. I love driving it,but that is a long trip and the gas might kill me $$$. My other ride is a 01,330i bmw,4 door,5 speed sport package.It gets great gas milage and is still a fun car to drive.

daytona has the advantage of being able to drive on the beach...which is cool if yo have a fun car.
but in january it is liable to be chilly...even for a northerner.
i say go a bit farther south.
the gulf beaches south of tampa are STELLAR...and some of the small towns are quaint and cozy. do some searching for a B&B...might find one right on the beach.
fort myers is nice, as is naples area.
if you have a fun car, you can drive down through the everglades on Rt 41, which is nice and scenic (as far as florida anyway).
another cool thing about the west coast is that you can visit some of the natural springs up near gainsville/ocala. they are gin clear water and a constant 72* year round.
there is also a cool little winery in Chiefland....called dakotah. cool place to visit and good wine.

Mediera beach kinda blows. Its a lot of sea shells in the sand it is no where near a nice as that sand on Clearwater beach.
Also now and days there is just as much Construction in Mediera/Treasure Island area, as there is in Clearwater.
I would say go to Clearwater all day and if you want to "get away" from all the people then take a trip over to Honeymoon island go for a nature walk along their beaches. There is no one there and it can be a nice little "get away" from it all kinda place.
