about 1:00 this afternoon my wife, daughter, a friend and I were going to the bulk mail center on commonwealth ave. We were going to give my father inlaw the camaro to use while we took his pacifica to go look at christmas lights tonight. We were sitting at the entrance waiting behind a semi truck to pull in. My father inlaw came out and waved us in through another gate. the truck driver infront of us thought he was talking to him and started backing up and before I could get it in reverse and move. He hit me.
We all get out and the guy actually tried to make this my fault saying that I was to close and that he couln't see me.
The officer shows up and after talking to him for a second he tells me he has a 99 T.A. so I tell him to come check out the site. So on to the damage. Front bumper, headlights, and the new hood I drove 5 1/2 hours one way to get. I haven't checked under the hood yet I'm waiting till I get it home tomorrow that way if it won't close atleast it will be home. I'll have pictures tomorrow

What company did the driver drive for? Wouldn't be Swift would it??? I drive for Metropolitan and as truckers we all know Swift drivers can not drive. To play the devils advocate though. We have many blind spots and the one directly behind is the worst. Dude we can not see and when prompted we react, (hand signals to turn in). Sorry about your incident but I just picked up my Y2K SS out the paint and body shop Friday evening and blew my tranny racing 1:00 am this morning so I too feel ur pain. Just glad ur all ok and the damage is minimal. Look at it this way. You'll get some new clear head lights and maybe an ss hood out of the deal right

He works for Pat Salmon, I found out today he was going to receive his ten year safty pin for no accidents this month and now they are going to start him back at year one. Kinda fealt bad for him. Like I told him after I calmed down **** happens. Nobody was hurt and thats what really counts. He was just in a hurry to get his stop over with so he could go home and wasn't paying close enough attention. He assumed the hand signal was for him but it was meant for me. As far as the hood goes I still have to talk to the bodyshop guy on price diffrences.

Trust me on this one, go through thier insurance co and work with the body shop of ur choice and (if you prefer) request brand new parts and buy a used ss hood and used decent headlights. The body shop can "work this in". Last year when I was coming home from work (as a truck driver) a semi side swiped me in my 05 Accord V6 (prior dd). Although the damage was quite minimal the body shop inflated the estimate and I got a few goodies my way plus a whole driver side repaint.

Well I went and got estimates today 3 of them from 4100 to 4400. I met Eddie today. He came off as a real nice guy and very knowledgable about the process. Definatly will be taking it to him to get the work done. All I have to do now is fax over the estimates to the insurance company. I think I might make out pretty well.
