The key to a long lasting meet is very simple in design, but hard to accomplish.

Good management. There needs to be a group of core members that run the meet. They enforce the rules of the ricers, they enforce the no burnout rules, no loud stereo's, so on and so forth. This is why I think the UCF Meet has lasted, all members that attend seem to have a respect for the meet. If there are a bunch of fools that attend, they can seriously ruin it for everyone else.

You have to pick a location that is centralized to everyone that wants to attend, or for the people that drive a long distance, not too far for them to drive.

At that location, you have to have food, obviously. You need to have a few choices to pick from, not just one. (This is a major flaw since most places have only one or two anchor restaurants in a strip mall with enough parking.)

YOU HAVE TO HAVE PERMISSION FROM MANAGEMENT TO USE THE PARKING LOT. If it's a strip mall, find out who the managing company is and make sure that you talk to business' that will be positively effected by us being there. (a.k.a.we will spend money at their business') The business' should help push us through management, because most likely we aren't going to be welcomed unless the business' assist.

If it's some large restaurant then all we need is their permission to use the lot.

The best location (which was ruined in the past for reasons that I won't go into) is Waterford Lakes. We have no chance what-so-ever of ever getting that place again. But use that as an example. There is plenty of choices for everyone to eat. There are a large amount of business' and plenty to keep the wives happy shopping. We spent money at the shops around us. It was a win-win. (Please don't ask what happened. I won't say.)

Good luck, that was just my .02 worth.

What about meeting up at the huge show @ Destination Daytona Harley on the third Saturday of the month off I95 in Ormond Beach? There are like 400+ cars there every month?

Simply, the managing body (Simon) wanted us as a club to have liability insurance so that they wouldn't get sued if a car was damaged. As it wasn't a dues paying club, this didn't occur.

We hold our club meetings at Classic Chevy. This has been the best home fo us over the past 13 years I have been a member. We all park under the Service area go upstairs for our meetings and then we cruise on up to the car show. Over the last 13 years I can recall we had 6-7 different meeting places an this place best fit's our needs)

If you need more info on the club www.cccfonline.com this weekend we are meeting at Central Florida Auto repair to get goodie bags ready for the Winter Nationals @ Old Town in 3 weeks.
