This is rediculous
Read the story below and tell me what is wrong with the title...

It was a crowd of people standing on the highway at 3:40AM watching a street race. They were standing in the road after the cars did their burnouts and raced off, leaving behind a cloud of tire smoke. An apparently innocent motorist just driving down the highway, not expecting people to be standing in the middle of the road watching a street race, drove through the smoke and nailed them on accident.
How does that not have anything to do with street racing?
Ridiculous*
In oklahoma there are signs that specificly state "Do Not Drive Through Smoke"

also was it a burn out contest or a drag race? there has to be alot of smoke as to not be able to see anything.....
Possibly no lights on? Sounds like a DUI or elderly person who shouldn't be driving.......
Why the hell would you be standing in the middle of the road at 4am? Maybe that driver was just going to work and didnt realize there were a bunch of morons standing in the middle of the road.
Lesson learned?? dont stand in the middle of a smoke filled highway in the dark at 4am. Someone might run you over. Better yet, dont stand in the middle of a highway any time, there are cars driving there sometimes. That is just stupid.

The people that were racing and spectating were doing something they shouldn't have been doing. If they weren't out there this would ever have happened.
I have no pity for stupidity.

They blamed this incident on a DRAG RACE. In actuality, NO ONE was killed DURING the drag race. People were killed when a car NOT INVOLVED in the race hit them because they happened to be standing in the road AFTER the race had occured. THEREFORE, this was NOT the cause of a drag race, but rather people standing in the middle of a dark road at 3 am...
It really twists my ***** when the media blames a death or deaths on a "drag race" when the vehicles and people involved WERE NOT RACING OR TAKING PART IN A RACE- in other words, what happened here.
yeesh...
If you think my point was rediculous, then think about this:
So I go to MOROSO to watch a couple of legal races and a meteor falls out of the sky and kills 100 people. Are you going to blame that on the DRAG RACES?!?!?!?!?!? I don't think so. It is extreme, but it is the same thing as what we have here in this story.
What was someone doing driving at 3:40am?? I do it all the time. My job requires it. He shouldnt be driving that late, or early so he is at fault.
Oh well, if you think its ok to act like an *** and stand in the road at 4am in the dark, someday you will end up in jail or dead for being stupid.

However, two cars lined up, doing burnouts (like you would at the drag strip), and then taking off from a dead stop is what most people reffer to as "drag racing", whether its at the strip or not. So the article isn't really mis-titled. It's illegal, and had it not been taking place then there wouldn't be people standing in the road watching. The spectators may have been betting, who knows. Either way, had they not been street racing, nobody would have been standing in the road to begin with.
If you were at MOROSO, and were standing in the staging lanes and got hit by a car, then it probably would have been labeled a "drag racing incident," regardless if the car was racing or not at the time.
