Default What is it worth?

I am considering selling my 98 T/A

145k on it as of right now, and its my DD so it continues to go up.

about 10k On the trans Fully Built 4l60e Trans was a FLT, went south and was re-built by Dave Burgess. I had him add the best stuff he could. I am not a trans guy but I trust this man alot. He has Built 4l60's for the fastes ls cars over here. Including Lou (02 Peweter Z) And Larry (swedeZ28) And his Son (ALLMOTOR346) And a few other Vettes.. It shifts hard and fast.

also in the trans is a Yank 3600

15k On the rear end with GM 3.42 gears

Other Mods include

LS6 Intake
Hooker LT's
Hooker ORY
Hooker Aero Chamber
Wisper Lid
Metco CNC machined aluminum LCA's
Edelbrock Adj Panhard
Edelbrock Torque arm
KYB 10 way Adj Shocks
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
02 Speedline WS6 Wheels with like new tires

It runs great, and has run a best of 12.4 @109 with the old trans and converter (TCI 3K). I have only made 2 passes with the new converter one on motor and it was hot it went 12.5 @ 108 I think, and 1 pass on a 75 hit and it went 11.6

Car is in good shape, paint has some scratches and small dings but not real noticeable. Rear bumper cover has scratches from the previous owner I think hiting something, and a small dent just in front of the rear tire well..

Drivers seat has a small rip in but thats it, dash is almsot perfect with a crack on the drivers side right next to the piller. The carpet is good, the rest of the seats are great, leather is nice and soft.

As of right now the A/C is out of the car, but I have a new compressor and it would be fixed before I sell.

I love this car, but I need something alittle more practical right now, and if I do sell it I will get something else later on. I owe on this car and I am trying to gage if I am going to take a big hit, or break even. I know if I trade it in, I am going to lose but it may be my only route. Mileage seems to scare people away.

anywho, what do you guys think?

here's the car

Mileage and the mods make it a harder sell than a mildly modified to stock car due to a narrower group of people. Not sure what to tell ya here, but check out the classifieds forum and maybe your local trader and see what people are getting for them. I'd say keep it and grab a beater (what I'm doing to keep mileage off the truck).

Yeah I know that it would be harder to sell because of the mileage and mods..

Another reason I think it will end up going for trade in.

Here's my thoughts:
I checked Kelley Blue book and the mileage and year for a Trans-Am is: $6,375.00 in excellent condition

I have a 98 Z28, My car with 70000 miles is I guess around $8,500 or so with mods (I'm guessing). Trans-Am's typically go about $2-3K more, so let's start with $11,500 if your mileage was lower.

145K miles is a HARD sell. LS1's are known for going further than 200k, but the typical owner still believes that 100k is the end of an engine's life. So reduce $2,000.00 for the high mileage, and we are down to around $9,000.

Mods are GREAT, but most people don't want to buy a car that is modded as much as yours is. So that is going to be an even harder sell, unless you find someone that doesn't mind a car that is modded. So with that say take off $1,000. And I'm being nice, cause those are some nice mods. $8,000

WORST PART: Right now isn't a good time to sell a car. People are losing there houses, and jobs, so people don't really have the extra cash for buying toys.

With all of that negativity out of the way, THAT TRANS-AM IS AMAZING LOOKING!!! Beautiful car, and if I had the money I'd buy it.

If your willing to take $3,000 for it, that's about as much as I can afford. Not trying to be a jerk, but that's all I have, and I wouldn't mind buying it.

Good luck.

haha Thanks Jason,

8k is about what I figure with the mileage and mods..

I have friends who want the converter, LCA's and other stuff. but to me its not worth the time and money to pull it out and put a stockers back in.

Heck with that said, I would gladly do some swaps for ya. I'll do all the pulling and swap directly from my car. I just want intake and exhaust.

Just a thought, and hope.
