Default What should i do??

I shipped out a intake manifold to a fellow member on here and when it arrived to him he stated "found the rear vacuum port mounting lip broken on the intake itself"
Pics are in attachments..

Is there anyway to get money from the damages from UPS?? I dont believe i purchased the insurance, but still, do i have any chance at all? Anyone else ever deal with anything like this?

What did you say it was worth? When I was in UPS the other day they asked if I needed insurance greater than $100, I told them no. So I almost want to say in theory, that they cover up to $100??

Unless you paid to insure it for $400, they will most likly only cover $100 .

you need to keep all the packaging too, but they may not want to see it, contact UPS and fill out the paper work, but said you may only get the $100,

It is common place for them to deny you everytime you go up there. Annoy the crap out of them. do it in person, on the phone won't mean anything. The rep doesn't care. But if you annoy the person behind the counter a bunch of times, they will eventually cave in to get rid of you.

Talk to everyone, as for manager's if you don't get the answer you want.

I use UPS and Fed-Ex all the time. And the delivery drivers know me. They have told me multiple times to do the above paragraph. It is policy to tell you it's not covered or that you aren't covered due to the lack of insurance, But the truth is, they are in fact responsible for damages that they did to the package.

Good luck, and seriously, annoy the crap out of them .

Did you sell it to someone you know, are the pics you posted what he sent you or did he mail it back to you already?
I'm not intentionally trying to stir up anything, but those don't look like the same two manifolds. If you toggle back and forth between the two pics the little insulation pad is kinda ripped or chewed up in the one from your latest post right by the #7 runner. If you notice on your original for sale thread it doesn't appear to be ripped. Now it's not the exact same angle in both pics so it's hard to say, but it just looks different to me.
Of coarse this could have happened during shipping the same time the other damage occurred, but I have been reading some wacky stuff in the negative feedback section lately. If you sold it to someone you know or if I am just crazy, then I apologize...........

Issue #1
The padding is ripped. This could have been UPS' fault. They could have mangled the hell out of it during shipping, and they could have broken the sensor area as well. But other parts of the cushion have me wondering.

Issue #2 There is an indention. This indention doesn't appear to be the same as the one you sold. (This could be angles, but I'm a little suspect about it.)

Issue #3 There is another indention. This one was there the first time, but it looks different.

issue #4 the oil mark doesn't completely look the same. It looks slightly off.

I would get some more pictures from the guy. just to get a better understanding "of all the damage that happen." Read: Try to get more pics.

Good luck. I'm a sensing something about that intake, not sure what. Also the runner in the top left of the sold picture, that area looks messed up. You probably don't have any pics of that from when you had it though.

Look right above where I put the #4 in the damaged pic. There is a small space above and slightly to the right of the 4. I don't see that at all on the one you sold. See if you can get a comparative shot of the bottom.

I agree with you, i will try to get some more pictures from the buyer. I also agree with you and have a funny feeling about the intake. The intake pad doesnt even look like it is in the same location.

This is EXACTLY what Survival sent me via email

"I open the box when I got home around 7:30.I found the rear vacuum port mounting lip broken on the intake itself.See attached pics.Don't know if I can repair it or not.Maybe JB Weld but not sure about getting a good seal it would be pretty hard to check with it's location."

he sent this along with the pictures posted

I used to work at UPS.

They absolutely cover up to $100 if you didn't buy insurance. If you bought insurance then of course they will cover it as long as you can prove it is worth that much.

You're the only one that can determine that.

Does that look like the box and packing you used?

yeah it does look like the same thing but im just wondering about the intake itself. I think it could be possible, that he already had a damaged intake and now is trying to return me his old one while he has a brand new one sitting on his car. I dunno maybe im just paranoid

I guess scribe any parts you sell from now on. That could be a good defense.
