What do I need to know about FL?

I definately need tint. That will be one of the first things I do when I get down there. My car just bakes in the heat.
I don't know what else to do to make my A/C any better. It's been completely evac'd and refilled without about 2# of r134-a. My compressor definately works since the A/C does get cool but it's not great. I'm not sure how good it's supposed to be.

Florida is not only hot and humid, but the drivers all suck. There are old people everywhere and all they do is complain about stupid stuff all the time. I've been to Gainesville a few times and didn't really like it at all, except for Gator Nationals.
PA to FL ?
You need tint or your interior is going to fade, you'll need a programmer to turn your fans on early, 100F air is not cooling anything.... need fans..... buy sunscreen on the way down here.... if you hair is kinda thin buy a hat....

dude its not that bad. im sure its gets hot as ***** up in pa too. its just as hot but it stays that way a little longer thats all. come on down its great!!

Yeah, it's not exactly a chill party up here in PA with days topping 100* in the sun and probably just the same amount of humidity.
I'm looking forward to FL. Nothing I can do about it anyway so I'm going to make the best of it.

Everyone here is correct about the heat, and the above poster who mentioned turning your fans on earlier is absolutely correct. When you get down here come by the shop (we are in Jax, about 45 minutes) and i will hook up your fan temps for free to welcome you to Florida
) and a pretty good car scene minus the rice. It is hot as hell, but you get used to it. 
I love when people try to bash Florida. I grew up in upstate NY and worked for a decade a medic on an ambulance. Please. Cold and snow suck. A/C mandatory in my book here, but I will likely die here. It is vacation every day.
One third of the year is a PIA with the heat. Small price to pay for the rest of the year.

Hey! it's not just the older drivers that are bad! They come in types, young and old! Just remember this too, if has not rained in awhile, trust me it is slippery as S***! Probably not now because it is monsoon season!

Hey, I just moved down last year to gainesville from Oklahoma to start my masters. Its hot and humid like they said but I have no a/c and I survived. Its pretty bad till around late september but then all the way through may was perfect weather everyday 
The places they mentioned are pretty good. My friends and I go to gators dockside alot. Satchels is ok and you have like a 2 hour wait to get seated.
The track is kind of hard to find. I almost got lost looking for it.
Also, I usually stay in the southwest quandrant cause thats where i live and where most everything is. I will be back in Gainesville in August. Hit me up if your bored. Always good to meet another F-body owner.
