Yes, I would have called it in - you should have too.
Regardless if he had 1 beer or 10 beers, that's not a chance you can take.
It's not a matter of knowing your limitations, it's called being socially responsible. I dont' commit acts that break the law and could possibly injury or kill somebody else on the roads - I would expect others to have the same courtesy.
People that disregard others people safety usually never have experienced pain themselves. Doing what I do for a living, I've realized that pain changes people's outlooks on things.
Here's an example:
Here's Jacki Saburido in 1999:

Then, some douchebag who was drinking hit her her head on:

The car caught fire and the girl was trapped for a full minute while being burned by hot oil and gasoline. This is the result:

She can't even wipe her tears because the fingers on both hands were severed:

And this is the ******* that did it. I'm sure he knew his limits too:

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!! GET IT?!

WTF, Is anybody here a MIND-READER that can look at someone driving away in their car tipping back a beer and somehow KNOW that they've had one or two?
There's no way to know this folks! Sorry to tell you! lol
The only one that knows is the one in the car, but in this case, WE'RE NOT THAT GUY...
Read the original post... It specifically raises the question of what WE AS OBSERVERS should do, call or not, NOT KNOWING HOW many the dude drinking has had... OMG, somebody please tell me you understand this flow of logic! I'm losing faith here in people's intelligence.
Man, I never imagined there were this many irresponsible people here, this coming from a person that LOVES to get smashed.
OMG, and what very sad pics...
Prochargedchevyi, what do you do for a living?

Wow! Those are sad pics indeed. I have to agree with bboyferal. I had an incident happen to me last month on my way to work and I know exactly how his wife was feeling when she got ran off the road. I was on my way to work driving my GTP and it had just finished raining so it was sprinkling at this point. I was doing about 45 MPH as I noticed a black Honda Accord coming out of an apartment complex to my right and I my first thought was WTF is this person doing? It was a busy six lane highway at rush hour no less and this car just pulls out into busy traffic. Well, after I realize that this car isn't moving to try and avoid me or other oncoming traffic, all I could think about was OH F@#! this is going to be nasty. I moved into the most inside lane that I could to try and avoid hitting her but she moved directly into my path at this point because she was attempting to cross three lanes to make a left turn to go northbound. So, I was heading straight for her drivers door and as I was braking the ABS kept pushing my foot up off the pedal and then the *** end started sliding and I was sliding I thought my right rear would hit her front end but instead, I missed her altogether and my car went completely over a concrete median and was airborne for a brief moment and into the path of northbound traffic and then into a ditch. It happened so fast but it felt like FOREVER. I then heard additional skidding behind me and I looked up and saw her in northbound traffic as cars were sliding to miss her.
Well, she continued on and fled the scene. I called 911 and gave them the description of the car and what had just occured. An officer came out to write the report and told me they couldn't locate the vehicle (go figure). I was histerical and trying to talk with him. My mom and my boss (who is an attorney) and a few others were standing with me waiting on a tow truck and as I was talking I just happen to look up and I saw "the car" turning back into the apartment complex. I yelled out "there she is" and the cop pulled out and stopped traffic and as he got behind her vehicle, she went up over a curb and came back down and hit a stop sign. We standing there like WTF is going on. Anyway an hour or so later he comes back over and tells me "we got her". She was DUI but was not alcohol, she was HIGH on pain killers and admitted to the cop she SHOULD NOT have been driving and she knew she had caused an accident but could not stop because she was late for an appointment with her probation officer. We were both lucky because we could of both been killed because of her addiction and ignorance.
I have no tolerance for drinking and driving so yes I would have called that person in. A little late now but I think this all gives us something to think about. It could be you or one of your family members that are killed or seriously injured for life. I had $4000.00 worth of damage when all was said and done which = engine cradle, oil pan, trans pan, L and R struts and lower control arms, two right side wheels which were broke in half and two tires. I now have 4 herniated discs in my neck and migraines (that I never had) all thanks to her. She is sitting in jail and will continue to be there until her trial this Monday. Sorry for the long post but just wanted to make everyone aware of what drinking and driving and being HIGH on presciption pain killers can do. In this situation it turned out ok because we are both alive. It could of been worse..

The mere fact that people cant multi-task is the main thing here. People have enough trouble drinking a non-alcoholic beverage and drive safely, let alone have one that is intoxicating them!
That is typical Ocoee though, and thats the sad part. I dont know if they wouldve done anything about it?

I was driving through downtown ocoee and I see the typical ocoee redneck driving the opposite direction and as we passed I see him throw back a budweiser
<<like that. Now I laughed at first but then I though about reporting it.. I didn't. Should I have? I kind of feel guilty that I didn't.
mind you, this was on bluford about 200 yards from the OPD station..

+1. I would call it in. You don't know whether that was his 1st beer, or finishing up his 5th. Call 911, tell them the story, follow the idiot at a safe distance until the Police pull him over, and then drive away knowing you got an idiot (possibly a drunken idiot) off the road and prevented a possible accident.
So, if you call something like this in... do the operators actually have a unit go out and look for the guy and pull'em over all because of a call from some random citizen??? If so, I think I just came up with a new way to get even with someone that cuts me off around town!!!
IMHO : We all have a little idiot in us.... sometimes its debatably excusable. Although, I believe blatent displays such as the one described should be reported and dealt with to the full extent of the law.

The best thing to do when calling anything in to the Police is to NOT REMAIN ANONYMOUS.
There are several ways that Law Enforcement can develop Probable Cause. When a person calls in and reports something and gives the law enforcement agency his/her name and/or contact information, that gives the officer probabale cause (also sometimes interchanged with reasonable suspicion) that allows him/her to conduct the traffic stop, because it is FAR less likely to be a prank call (obviously if they have your info they can charge you with falsifying a police report, etc...)
However, if an anonymous tipster calls in, the Officer must make sure the tip is reliable, and that it corroborates a future event.
Here is an example:
A guy wearing a blue shirt and blue pants is selling fertilizer out of his yellow Volkswagen Van. An anonymous tipster calls in and says "I have a guy wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, and driving a yellow VW Van at the intersection of 1st and Main dealing drugs".
Although the description is very reliable, this is not enough PC for an arrest, because it does not corroborate a future event. Anything found during that encounter may be inadmissible.
However, if someone said the above description and told Police ".....and he is going to be meeting a guy wearing a white shirt and green pants at 2nd and Main at about 3:00PM and sell the guy drugs", then all the Officer has to do is wait until the said time at the said intersection, and attempt to corroborate the story (confirm that it is true). THIS DEVELOPS THE PROPER AMOUNT OF PROBABLE CAUSE.
So for your DUI thing, if you decide to remain anonymous, the Officer can respond to your call (they have to take all of them), and try to establish a driving pattern, etc... However, it would be tough to fight in court because a Defense Attorney is going to be asking the Officer questions like "Why did you pick my client's vehicle to follow?" "What was your location before responding to the incident?" If the Officer only has an anonymous tip to rely on, the person may very well walk.

I have never drove with any alcohol in my system. NEVER. I know it is hard to believe, but I had a bad experience when my best friend got killed when I was 16 by a drunk driver. So I swore to never drink and drive. doesnt matter if it is one or two beers I have a driver or I dont drink. i would have called the pd. that guy was being blatent and deserved to have the cops called on him.
There is no way to justify that drinking 1 beer while driving is ok. Its like trying to justify that street racing is ok....... but a lot of people on here do it.....
Would you call in street racing if you saw it?

^^ I dont mean to get to far off topic but, I had the same thought when making my earlier comment. I personally consider street racing to be in the same ballpark as this. Although, I feel like I would be more hesitant to call in the racing...
Just a little food for thought.
Not to support the topic either way, but also think about this. By the time you actually get through to the police, the race and danger is over. The guy driving drunk (or possible drunk, since only 1 beer was seen being consumed) will be a danger and drunk (possibly) his entire drive to his destination. Therefore, there is little to no chance of catching the racers in action and actually have pc to pull them over. But, if a cop finds our friend in the truck he can follow for a driving pattern, or observe him drinking the beer in the truck. In other words it's a good comparison, but has one big hole in it. The time frame of the illegal action is nowhere near the same, and the likely hood of actually catching the racers STILL racing when a cop gets in the area is VERY slim compared to catching a motorist under the influence that is observed by a citizen.
Just a little food for thought.

You T-bone some 16 yr old girl pulling out of a gas station at 130mph, thats not going to be pretty, or if you cross the yellow lines and hit a car head on at 55, either way its going to be fatal.
I definitly see your point, not trying to take a side just trying to fuel the fire
Yea I figured I would stir the Pot by throwing that out there, either way I'd say that driving drunk is worse, but there are too many variables in both cases, how many drinks, speed of the race, how many races... etc...

, I'm willing to be the majority will see dui as being worse than street racing. Hey, if I can see you streetracing on the same roads I take to and from work, I'm calling it in...
Similarly, if any average citizen sees me streetracing, I hope they call it in because I'm an ******* for racing around other people... Right?
MOST people streetrace around nobody... DUH, no one wants to get caught... If they're racing around other innocent people on busy roads, throw their *** in jail...
Rednecks drinking beers while driving back from work ARE NOT doing on it a 1/4 mile stretch of road with no one around except another drinker... Alcohol is in their system THEIR WAY BACK FROM WORK, presumably, while encountering MANY PEOPLE... Apples and oranges people.
