Help with aligning hood? Jax area Getting really frustrated trying to align my new hood up. It's driving me crazy. I get rid of one large gap on one side, then it just moves itself to the other side. Between the hood and the bumper there's a large gap that I can't get rid of.. I've just had it with this thing. I know the hood is an aftermarket one and it's not going to fit perfect, but I would like for it to at least be lined up properly with even sized gaps all around. Any one know of a place that would do this, and how much it might cost? Doesn't even need to be a body shop, just need some help with this thing.
send Eurospec2 or one of the other guys at efi alchemy a pm. fleming island auto body is right next door to them. you might be able to check out their shop, disusss any current or future plans with your car plus let the body shop look at your hood. just an idea.
You may want to try and measure that hood and verify that it's
even and square. Last (only) time I got a fiberglass hood, it was
way the hell out; had to take a skinny pie-slice out across the
whole thing just to get the left and right lengths to match. My
side-side was OK. But since these are all hand-job mold layups,
can't take anything for granted. Don't make your car crooked
to match unless you can't clean up the hood. Though there is
probably some shim / un-shim you can do on the fenders at the
end.
