Default Met 86 IROC today

I met 86 IROC today, while picking up some free auto parts to help someone else ... What a great guy. We talked for nearly 2 hours about other members' here, hotrod sh**, and about life, in general.

My hat's off to a very mature, friendly, and big-hearted younger guy (I'm 50). Here's to ya', Brian. And thanks for helping out, brother!!!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the kind words fellas. Big thumbs up, I enjoyed talking to both of you. It had a been a good while since I've seen either one of you. You're both the kind of people that keep me from selling my cars and turning my back on the hobby. I've had so many bad experiences with people connected to the hobby over the past few years that it has soured my feelings towards cars/racing. But, some key people have kept me into it. Without the help of my good friend Dennis, my car would have been parted out and sold a few years ago. I credit him with giving me the help and motivation to see this thing through.

I'd love to come up with a once a month, or every 2 month meet to just show up and have a BS session amongst other cool car guys. I know there are venues out there, but I'm not interested in racing much anymore. I could really care less who's car is faster than mine these days. I'd like to find a more laxed environment to hang out and just talk cars, and general BS. (I'm getting so I don't even like going to the track anymore)

Mike - Tell Lou he's slow next time you see him. lol

Brian's a huge douchebag, I don't see how you guys can stand his presence for more than 5 consecutive seconds.

Brian needs to stop collecting parts. I bought a transmission from him years ago and it now sits on my garage floor with even more dust on it

You'll use it eventually, keep spraying the Formula... it will happen sooner or later.

Yep, or swap converters on a 146,000+ mile stock transmission. That could do it too....

I would still let it go if the right opportunity came along. But, it seems that for now - it's just not in the cards. I'll wait 2-3 months for cool air and try to slip past tech again at OSW. Then I'm pretty much done racing for the year. I doubt they'll let me back after that fiasco.

Yeah, I have one. It's "installed" in my garage next to the hot water heater. I plan on selling it, I don't want to cut my car up.

Yeah, I saw the garage ... looks like a salvage yard ... parts ALL over the place ... lol! I miss the Trans Am ... just time to let it go. Would've cost me $30K+ to drop bigger cubes, cage it, and do all the stuff like K-member/drag brakes/drag wheels, etc.. Parted her out and have the 22K stuck away for a roller to drop a good motor into next year.

It's awfully hard to drive this new Jeep I now have after driving a potentially `low 11-second car, but, that's what I'll be towing my next drag car with.

Keep the Camaro if you can, but, don't go bankrupt over it. That's a beautiful F-Body without a doubt.

I don't think my car sounds/looks all that radical, and the last time I was out there - they started asking too many questions. I'm sure if they saw D anywheer near the car they would have told me to "keep it in the 12's."
