Default Bill Heard just locked doors

Im sure others will follow with this "strong economy".
As much as I didnt like them or some of their practices(bought a new S10 from them),we still need dealerships that deal in American cars to be strong.
They locked the doors with no warning to 300+ employees.
Bill Heard is a very large dealership and has them thruout the USA.
At one time they were the largest dealer of Chevys in USA.

THis is a sign of things to come. Other dealers are hurting bad, esp the ones with high overhead (like the Plant City Bill Heard Dealership). when you have 50 Million dollars in inventory and you arent selling highly profitable 50K dollar SUVs, well, things are going to change, fast!

In this case I don't think it's "only" the economy though. Lawsuits were probably involved...

They were going to get a new ZR1. I wonder what they are going to do with all the inventory. Time to watch the auction.

I think the problem with service is nobody wants to pay $150 an hour for service anymore. [$75 per time unit, 1 time unit = 1/2 an hour, not a real hour of work]. I bit the bullet and bought the tools when I realized I couldn't afford to pay my mechanic more than my lawyer.

Everytime I see a Chevrolet with a Bill Heard sticker on it feel like its the Devil's child. They were a horrible dealership and they got what they long deserved. I feel for the good people that worked there but other than that good riddance.

i know all about the lawsuits. those lawsuits would take years to settle. its no the reason they shut down. its the fact they couldnt buy any cars from GM and owed GMAC a ton of money.

I heard about this this morning on channel 13. I used to have a couple of "bird dogs" from there when i worked at drivetime. Its amazing how they used to treat customers. I did get a lot of business out of them though

i never should have quit that job..
