2.5" cross over is normal but what do you meen by 2" on the manifold side? Are the shorty headers 1 5/8 primaries and 2.5" collectors? What exhaust manifold do you have on the other side.

Yes 1 5/8 primaries on the header - 2 1/2" crossover which feeds straight into one port on a t4 devided flange and the other side is just a 2" log feeding straight to the other port on the t4 devided flange

I wonder if your getting great spool because of the fact that one bank of cylinders is feeding the turbo through a 2" tube on the short side. That probably increases velocity quite a bit.

I have actually heard that going with a slightly smaller cross over like 2" 2.25" will have beneficial effects in terms of spool charachteristics because of the increased velocity but limits further growth down the line if you want to make "stupid" power.
