The bracket looks great, nice job!

You're going to peg the maf but most tuners know how to work around this, without having to go speed density. We have kept the maf on a lot of horsepower builds up through 700 rwhp without any problems. Bob

Thank you for the compliment Bob!

Hopefully the tune will get all squared away before too long. Just have to be able to find the time both the tuner and I are free to get together.

Hopefully you get something together soon since my tensioner pulley is about shot and I don't want to buy a whole new bracket just to get the pulley.

do you think you can make this in 10rib? how does this set-up compared to the SDCE?

I currently don't have any plans to do a 10 rib. I don't have a car with a setup that would need it and I don't want to do it to mine. I am sure I would have to start modifying radiator core supports and the like for clearance as everything would need to be spaced forward another 3/8". For my intended purpose I don't think it is necessary, this setup has the most belt wrap out of any 98-02 F-Body setup I have seen.

Are you asking how it is put onto the car compared to the SDCE or how does it perform compared to the SDCE?

There were some design aspects of the SDCE that I personally thought could have been done better.
  • Spacing the pulley so far off the tensioner arm places undue stress on the system. Twisting loads tensioners were not designed to take. Mine keeps the pulley right next to the arm as the manufacturer spec sheets recommend.
  • I did not have an ATI bracket to have modified so that would have been added expense.
  • Special tools needed to operate the tensioner. I can use a standard 15mm open wrench to operate my tensioner.
  • ATI & SDCE both not using the second 3/8" mounting hole on the super charger. My bracket is wider and using the 6th bolt hole completely ties in the top half of the bracket with the J section.

just something to watch out for is the bearing speed on that little idler you have on the stand off. with the bearing being that small its gonna see a lot of RPM and that means heat/failure if the bearings not up to the task. Not picking your design apart, just pointing something out

You are correct. The smaller pulley will see upwards of 28000 RPM at 6500 engine RPM, and 30500 rpm at 7000 engine RPM. I spent a lot of time with my bearing supply finding a sealed bearing that is rated high enough to handle the speeds.

Hey, a question that I just thought of is that my car has a D1SC, and I see this was made for P1SC. What issues will I have making this bracket work with D1SC?

Thanks

This bracket would work ok, they share the same outer case and the bolt pattern is the same.

P1SC, D1SC, F1A, F1C, F1R all take the same J-bracket.

Yeah I got one for about 45 bucks through my friendly AC Delco supplier a while back. Thank you though, it is always helpful to have the part numbers handy.
