Default Finally ... My nine second six speed.

Hey Guys !

I own a 99 C5 Coupe. It was a 404 Cubic Inch Shorty, ETP 225 Cylinder Heads along with my custom twin GT35R top mount turbo kit controlled by my BS3. I finallly got down to the track this year. It was cold, the track prep wasn't the best up here in Canada, and one serious head wind ... so we decided to take it easy. I had a spark plug wire come off and to top the cake, my power steering pully also shot off loosing my belt. Lucky for me we run a electric water pump. The car put down well over 1000rwhp on the dyno, but we were only turning about 900rwhp that day due to my spark plug and lack of alternator issue. (I put her on the dyno when we got back to the shop to see how much power she was really putting down at the track first pass 895, second pass 939)

So with a 1.67 Short rolling threw the beam she hit a 6.7 1/8 mile and we still managed to run a 9.9 @ 155 on my first clean pass. My mechanic managed to convince tech not to give me the boot on that first pass. I decided it was time to get a little more agressive on the launch ! I dropped the clutch over 5K rpm and she still bogged down a little but picked up to 1.51 60ft and 6.5 second 1/8th mile. I got a little to excited and missed forth gear. Needless to say I got the boot when they saw me really putting the hammer down. She was running strong and I kick my self in the **** every day ! I guess there is always next year ... I will be sure to go full tilt !

Thanks brother. This is my street rod, no cage no shute ... that is why I got kicked off the track. Some like to discredit my goals and achievements by calling it a race car .. but the way I see it, I blare the tunes on the way to the races makes it a street ride.

Hey John !

Yea, it gets pretty damn hot, but she has not melted anything yet =) I am putting a tiger shark front bumper (open mouth) with big cowl hood to let the air travel out the back by the wind sheild to be safe.

I think she still has 160mph in it ... gotta get that good launch on tilt.

It's actually Shwerin Williams "Planet Color" I believe the same guy who devolped the House of Colors line went to work for SW and came up with a new pallet of color choices.

Yes sir, the A/C was blowing cold ... the condensor is that ugly thing you see under the turbo chargers in the first picture of the kit. I ended up pulling it out in the end since the car is only driven a couple of times a week, mostly at night.
