Machining a Block for more Sc brackets

I just bought a Bare 6.0 ltr Block & someone told me that this block needed to be drilled for another hole so if u added an blower on the motor the 3rd hole would be more supportive for the sc kit ,does anyone know where this 3rd hole suppose to be machined out ?I May just send it to Erik koeing & Let him Machine it & Put this shortblock together ,just wanted to hear if anyone else has ran into this with the Lq4 or Lq9 block when trying to add sc bracketry to it ,Thanks for the input

i think that this is only a problem for fbodies, so judging by your sig, you have a vette and wont have to worry about it

you have to grind a little where the ac studs mount and everything to gain clearance there so you can put your compressor back on. Don't drill or machine anything extra into the block because it is not necessary and no supercharger kits out there require more mounting points than what they already come with.

The aluminum blocks have all three bolt holes for installing the ProCharger bracket assembly. When we installed an iron block into my Camaro, we just used two of the three bolt holes, as the iron blocks are not drilled for the third hole. We have added an extra brace to the top and bottom of the ProCharger bracket and we're not having any problems with it. Bob

Back when i had my Procharger on my car i drilled the hole out myself and tapped the hole and it worked just fine.. was easy.... used the Steel J-Bracket also.... on a F-Body Though.

I have also done the same thing. You just have to drill and tap were the bolt hole would be and your set.

along with tapping a hole maybe, if its not done as block prep. Your gona have to cut a holes lug off for the c5motor mounts. Smooth it all down when your done.
