FWIW I had mine restricted with a .068" restrictor, same exact setup that my Turbonetics unit has been using for 2 years...

Ive had my MP GT45 for 3 years and its taken a beating and still runs perfect. Also picked up a MP T70 from Modular Turbo for another project, and will probably buy more in the future, from him too. I see no reason to pay twice as much on other brands. Most of the failures are usually a result of the user not the turbo's quality...on any brand....minus the ebay knock-offs.

On mine, I run off the WG spring of 7psi most of the time, but have a cheapy setup of solenoid and a air regulator that when I flip a switch, it routs boost controlled by the air reg to the top side of the WG and raise the boost. My high street setting is 10 psi and when I go to the track with good gas, I raise it to 14-15.

Well I wouldn't discount other turbos. MP T70's aren't right for everybody. Some need more power than it can support and such. Also don't forget that the 70 is just a P trim. But if you only want to spend 600 and need to be in its range it most certainly is a KILLER deal.

I've ran 15psi of boost on the LS1 with the T70 but I think that was at the top end of it efficiency range. I also one have on 5.3 in my days 72 Chevy 4x4 pickup. It been on there a year, but only about 2-3000 miles, again no problems.

I haven't had the new motor on the dyno, but on the 4.8 even though my 4x4 and auto drive train, with just a small cam in the 4.8, I made 505rwhp and 535rwqu with 11psi 18 degs of timing, 91 oct gas and meth.

I just today put a MP T76 on my LS1 5.7. It's a tad slower spool, but I think will make more power then the T70 when I turn up the boost. I really like these MP turbos, great units for the price.

I believe the warranty is one year, right Rob?

yep..they are good turbos for shure...i made the numbers in my sig with the mpt70 that is now on my rcsb truck on a 5.3 since i upgraded to the mpt76

I think the MP t76 is gonna be the next big budget turbo. MP t70 was the first, then the BW s400, and now this 76mm turbo will probably the next big seller.

I had two MP-T70's fail with 1,200 miles on them. Bearings just went to sh*t, One was so bad it had compressor wheel to housing contact, the other was getting close! Ended up replacing with turbonetics 70mm's.

Did it fail in warranty and if so did you return them, if so to Who? Did he take care of you?

To anyone that is posting about failures,

If you don't mind I would really like to know who you bought your unit from and if it failed during the warranty or not. Also I would like to know if you were given the run around on the warranty work. Masterpower and I are taking customer service seriously, which was not given the attention it deserved before I came on board, I want to clean up its image and I want to eliminate Dealers that aren't worth a $&%@. So if you could please add a little info. It would help me immensely.

Thanks,
Rob@modularturbo

PS if a shop ripped you off I wanna know who they are "KARMA is a mean BIT@&".

I bought mine new in box from a member here... it was a T70. The car only had about 5-6 months of driving on it because of the weather up here, but it was over a "year" in time that had passed. I didn't pursue a warranty claim. I sold it on here as a bad unit for like $100 and bought a TC76.

Just my experience. I'm turned off of them for a while. If their reputation can get turned around in my eyes I might try one again someday, but I'd have to see a lot of good evidence. It did perform well while it worked FWIW. I already have a Garrett sitting on the shelf for my next project anyways.
