How long with a MP T70 Live?
Im getting ready to start the C6 manifold project on my TA.
Its my daily driver, and will probably see quite a few miles... just curious if it would be reasonable to expect the MP T70 to live for a lot of miles.
My goal is ~500rwhp for now.
How long will it last? Who knows...There haven't been any quantifiable studies done because there are so many variables that affect longevity. The best thing you can do is get a turbosaver oil filter and make sure it's getting sufficient oil flow.
Do you think the S400 series would just spool slower and have no advantage if ~500-550rwhp was the goal?
A local guy just made 540rwhp and 570ftlb with a 67mm turbo, and i would be more than happy if i achieved similar results. I dont ever really want to take the car much past that, because thats when a LOT of stuff starts needing to be upgraded.

Yeah i figured T70 would easily get me there... and i just today found out that Masterpower also has a T76.
So for my application would there be any benefit to a MP T76 over the 70?
Its just a "for fun" car, but i would like to get a well matched setup that will work well.

This car will probably get 10-15k miles per year on it.
I know i had planned to drive it to Florida and back next summer (about 2700miles round trip)
I haven't had the new motor on the dyno, but on the 4.8 even though my 4x4 and auto drive train, with just a small cam in the 4.8, I made 505rwhp and 535rwqu with 11psi 18 degs of timing, 91 oct gas and meth.
I just today put a MP T76 on my LS1 5.7. It's a tad slower spool, but I think will make more power then the T70 when I turn up the boost. I really like these MP turbos, great units for the price.
I believe the warranty is one year, right Rob?

Im not looking to set the world on fire with this thing, just have a little fun and turn a borring daily driver into something fun.
Thanks for all the info guys. I think i have my mind up to go with the MP T70... now to just see if ModularTurbo will cut me a deal if i buy Turbo/WB/BOV and some assorted clamps and couplers all at once
FWIW I had mine restricted with a .068" restrictor, same exact setup that my Turbonetics unit has been using for 2 years...
