I will be running a iron block, ARP Studs, O-ringed heads with no receiver groove and a 5 layer GM MLS gasket. I am still undecided if I am going to try and use some yamabond but I might give it a shot. This seems to be the best way to go with a 4 bolt block, if I push water I will just turn the wick back till it does not or set up some type of coolant system simular to the ohio boys where it still pushes but will not sling water every where.

Thanks to everyones input, I would like to here more opinions.

This car will eventually be running either a shetmetal intake or a Vick Jr with a good elbow but the initial build will have to consist of one of the ones listed.

No one yet, I have not placed the order for them yet and I was just going to have TEA do them. I hate having to half *** things like this intake but right now budget jsut won't allow it. The only things in this build that are not budget are the headers, heads, and the procharger head unit. Everything else is either modified shelf peices or build from scratch.

You can not use MLS gaskets if you have o-ringed the heads. The MLS gasket will destroy the metal o-ring in the heads. You need to use a graphite based gasket. Fel-Pro makes a great graphite based gasket.

Hmmm, I have been told that they will be fine and alot of the high horsepower guys around here run this setup.

Iron block eh? I may have some support brackets you'll need in a month or so. (iron blocks only have 2 bolt holes) PM me & I'll get back to you when it's ready. What car you putting this in? A Vic Jr with an IntakeElbows.com elbow only needs minor notching to fit an F body.

But of your list I'd pick the LS6 because of what's already been done with one....and it's cheap.

Yes you can use o-ringed head's with MLS Gaskets. Just make sure the o-ring fall's in place of the little recession on the head gasket. It solved my pushing water problem for awhile! No problems with the o-rings after I removed the head's either. I would recommend it!
