Default Of the three, what intake would you use

As the title says, which of the following intakes would you use and why on a F1R procharged car turning 7500 rpm, at about 25 psi of boost.

1. LS6 w/ TPIS modded 90mm opening (maybe some very small porting I.E. port matching to the heads)

2. Fully Ported LS2 intake

3. PP Typhoon 92mm intake (maybe some very small porting I.E. port matching to the heads)

In any given situation the throttle body would be a ported stock LS2.

Thanks for you input.

I'd be a bit leary of using the TPIS with 25psi. You know the new snout is epoxied on there, right? I'm sure it's held on pretty good, but I wouldn't want to chance it at that boost level.

Beck Sheetmetal or Victor Jr/Super Vic w/Elbow

If you have the dough for F1R setup you have the dough to buy a quality intake

I did not know that, I had assumed that it was attached with some form of a plastic weld. Hell I can epoxie a snout on it, lol.

Neither of those are an option, thanks though. This is a very tight budget build and right now those will just not be a possibility.

Its the cost of the hood that is the problem with the victor.

I am using a Vic Jr since it will better distribute the intake charge across all cylinders.

Well, that's what I was told when I inquired about one a couple of years ago. If it were bonded/welded in some stronger manner, it may be worth looking into. Give TPIS a call and see what they have to say.

i would save some cash and just go with the edelbrock and an elbow. its much more worth the money, been proven in numerous builds and you can always increase your power with it.

What do you mean the cost of the hood? are you talking about clearance? IIRC all you have to do is clearance the cowl for the wipers and thats it. Either way good luck

I would an am using a ls6 intake, stock tb.

ls6 intake should be good to 1000 hp without to many issues with a turbo, and stock tb as well.

If you on a budget, use a stock, and spend the money elsewhere. go sheetmetal when the time comes.

True. If you want to use the Vic Jr and a real elbow, you will need a high rise hood. The elbows that allow you to use a stock hood are complete crap and a huge restriction.

I pulled the VicJr off a car because the elbow was causing some crazy fueling situations. We put on a FAST 90 and it solved all that-although I'm still not a big fan of the FAST and FI.

On my own C5 I just run the LS6 with a ported TB and it's seen over 900 rwhp @18 psi. This through a auto to boot.

I considered the LS6 with the 90mm inlet but I'm told it's only epoxied together and not recomended for boost.

Hey Arun,

What situations where those? Very interested to hear about them.

We were using the GMPP intake with the nitrous Dave elbow on OntarioVettes car. Everythime we put the car on the dyno it would go pig rich, then lean at 5000 rpm-couldn't tune it out no matter what I tried. I thought it was pumps, etc. Pulled it off and put on the FAST and bingo-I get the 11.1 AFR I command. Still haven't put it on the dyno to finish off the tune but we will shortly.

very tight budget? You aren't gonna be throwing 25psi at a 4-bolt setup setup. That means LSX or ERL blocks; I don't consider those to be budget...
