Single undercar turbo doable?
Hello turbo gurus,
Not much into turbs but will take the plunge this winter. Car is a Volvo 940, 3200 lbs. Running LS1, 4L60, stock rear(Dana30). 220R cam 5.3 stage 2.5 heads, 11.2 Comp., Can lower compression, stock bottom end. Right now putting down 370 hp, 12.3 consistent 1/4@115mph. I think 7 or 8 psi would do it.
My goal is high 10s. Car is daily driver and needs to be reliable. Not wanting to clutter up under the hood as it's tight already. Can I run a single turbo underneath where the center muffler once was? LOTS of room under there!
Running homeade long tubes and 3" stainless single exhaust. Need to put down 500hp.+ to run 10s. Don't mind fabbing, building anything, it's not a problem. Really need input as to proper turbo size/ratio.
Thanks for the suggestions.

mid or rear mount?
that iz the question.
and sinse i can't see the *** end
i can't give an opinion, but a mid
looks like more trouble than it's worth.
imho.
if you do decide to go rear those headers have to
get swaped back to stock manifolds as the
LT's can't hold the heat needed to spool a rear mount.
good luck in your build in any event, i think it's a project
worth persuing. good luck in your future endeavoure.

Why would the mid mount be so much trouble? Too much back pressure?
Thanks for the reply. I'm new to turbo engineering.
The muffler on the right side of the picture is the rear of the vehicle.
