Default New Best Tonight! Video w/in

Just got back from the track, the conditions were alright for running. The tech told me to stay 11.99 or higher or go home. Last weekend a Supra smacked the wall at 100 mph and now they are saying we need a cage to run 11.99 or better. The track was relaxed on that rule for awhile now.
so here is the video
http://home.comcast.net/~jsbird98/newbest.mov
3.4megs
The DA was 7856 from the calculator I used. Here were the local conditions at the time of the run.
temp 76F
Dew 26F
humid 16%
press 30.03

So 11.36@120.45, 1.62 60ft 7.30 1/8 are the details. If I had my cage in I could've expiremented more with the stall. I launched at around 2800 on that run. So I had to go slower or go home so I went home.

I saw the video of the Supra smacking the wall

The guy was doing 130mph when he lost it and was down to about 60mph when it hit. Or at least thats what he said.

CONGRATS on your new time!!! Your .2 10th's behind that white Z28!

That sucks about CC's Supra. Is the video posted anywhere or did where did you see it?

Flynbludream, we saw chase smack the wall that friday. I have video of the car after it hit the wall and after it was dragged back to the pits, but we didn't get the run on tape because rice isn't what we tape, fast or not. Chase's first pass was a typical 800rwhp supra run 12.4@129mph. On his second pass he upped his boost and lost it at the 1/8th, we were all standing around his busted up car when he said he was doing 100 at the 1/8th when he lost it. It was pretty ugly he was in the left lane and his car hooked right very hard and went straight into the wall. If you want pics or video I can post the carnage, let me know.

nbm00ws6 Thanks Man, I have to get my cage installed this coming week so I can really see what she has left in her.

sscam68 Thanks you're still 3.01 seconds slower than my car I'm not worried about shaun, the car is faster than the 11.36 it ran, I still have to get my launch rpm down. I am borrowing ET Drags from a buddy, and they flat out hook everytime. My ET Streets weren't like that. 1pass learning curves suck. The cage is definately going in this week

Not for long

Whats your goal? 10's?

Have you thought about going out to Roswell?

They are at 3500 ft with an avg DA @ about 5000ft, track prep is good, and they are VERY lax when it comes to having a cage. I think you could crack a 10 out there.

Yes for long, I have other plans brewing right now, one of them we are starting on tomorrow. PNYKLR(Neal Palmer) and I are putting in the new beast I have sitting in the garage,348 Forged, Ported and polished 6.0heads, with a FI cam, not the little B1 cam I have now. So that puts you even further back and I am in the process of working out the details on the other piece of my FI puzzle. 10's are easily attainable with this engine I have in it now. I can up the boost or the N2O. But how it sat that night, that was my only pass, I am sure it would go faster if they let me run it out the door a couple more times.11.1's were easily attainable. My run was made with only 40 minutes of cool down time. What I regret about last night was not having the MMS pulley back on, the extra psi woulda been great on that run
Roswell was a pile last 2 times that I was out there(Powerdyne Days) I did go faster tho(12.1's from the 12.5's I was running up here with the lil PD S/C) but the best 60's I could get were 1.99s on Streets.
Maybe when we get the new engine in and tuned, I have to make a trip out to Roswell anyway.

Nice run. I was supposed to run the car today at Deming, but did not get the parts for my home made boost controller. Should make next month races, not expecting too much maybe 112 mph and break into the 12s.

Frank PM sent back buddy

Bad95 thanks are you a local here in alb, I have been noticing more LT1's at the track. We are sending 3 LT1 out pretty soon, 2 396 strokers one N2O power, one T-Trim powered, and a stock 97 with a ZEX 125 shot, that one was going 14.7@96mph, but sprayed it to a 13.2@109mph on street tires(kumhos).

oOoly thanks buddy.

Gary, man I hope to see that car of your run one day. With all the time you spent on it, it should run better than what you quoted. I hope you make it up here tho, that would be awesome.

BIGBOS, yep 10's are soo CLOSE, I would've loved to do it with my stocker LS1, but its time for it to make way for the 348 With that block I will have no trouble making a trip out of state.

This happened in Albuquerque New Mexico. The Supra is putting over 700+hp and the driver was doing some shakedown passes. Camera man got all excited and lost focus of the car. Driver walked away without a scratch.

Drew, sorry about that you can't view it. It works, but is uploaded using quicktime, are you using wmv? If so you will need a plugin to get it to work
The track is Albuquerque National Dragway- The only track you have to drive up a hill to get too

Tudds, thanks man, I will get those supra pics and video shots up.
Now its time to get back to work on the new engine install.

Cool, I raced at that track in '96 back when I had my '94 Z-28, I only ran 14.6 though

I also use to ride dirt bikes there too.

Is their a guy named Mike K???? He use to have one of the fastest cars when I lived there.

The track wasn't open very often, so we did a lot of street racing, the good ole days

Mike Keenan?

I think he IS the fasted right next to Urist.

these are the fastest "Street Cars"

1. Mike Keenan 8.20 @171
2. Anthony Dickson 8.96 @ 156
3. Mike Sherbring 9.46 @ 135.53
4. Mike Worner 9.49 @128
5. Levi Ballog 9.50@152

Urist isn't on the list because his car is not street driven
