If the BOVs leak, yes, anything will gain power.

If you do your homework, and do a boost leak check, you will find problems if there are any.

Ive not had a problem with the stock APSs, other than at high boost, they are on the verge of not flowing enough air.

Quickness will depend on the level of a vacuum and also the spring pressure used in the BOV. Check the Tial and Turbosmart BOV's.....they are lightning quick.
