I'm going to be removing my home made STS turbo system. My question is, I have mildly ported 317's on the car as well as an 02+ Z06 cam, should I spend the time to put the stock heads and cam back in? Is the slightly lower compression of the 317's gonna out weight the flow numbers benefits? I'm planning on getting a C5 vette, and I think selling the car in stock (or near stock) form is my best option.
If this is the wrong forum sorry Mods please put it in the more appropriate one!

The car will feel a bit down on power in the low RPM range from the reduced compression, but if you're selling it I doubt that a buyer (unless they're currently driving an F-body) would notice.
When I took my STS off I had the 317's and a CC228 cam on a .588 116LSA for 3 weeks. Car was decent at the top end, but more sluggish than stock off the line. Of course, after having 5PSI it felt weak up top too..... but that's a different story I outran a new Rustang in a street race. I know that the stang had exhaust + who knows what else and was definetly trying....and I beat it by about 8 car lengths by 80mph. So, deducing that my car was still a low 13/high 12sec car even with the 317 heads and turbo cam in N/A trim.
My current combo is ported LS6 heads with a very aggressive Comp Cams grind on a 111LSA...... but it's not worth spending the $$ on yours if you are getting rid of it.
I'll post some Pics of the system, later today, It was a fun and interesting build, I started off with cheap e-bay parts and then moved into real Tial/Masterpower parts. The system works great but its getting to be time for me to move on personaly. Also would it be worth taking the 317"s with comp springs and titanium retainers and the hardend pushrods and cam out to sell them? My labor is free, just some money for head gaskets and bolts?
