Default Rich on the dyno at idle. Need advice.

Ok so i added a FMIC to my set up along with 60lb seka injectors. I took it to the tuners for a new dyno tune. And he cat get the car to run any leaner the 10.0/af at idle. He told me its the MAF and to get a 2 bar map sensor. you guyus have part number?

Now im going to get the sensor and go back next monday but i was wondering if there is anything else i should check on b4 i head back. What else would cause the car to run rich at idle?

PS- When i put the front mount on it was running very rich after the install. My tuner leaned it out 15% just so i could break in my clutch. I had 42lb injectors.

If you guys could school me on MAF sensors and if anyone else has had this problem.

thanks,

it's not the maf, it's the tuner.

you should be able to idle at 14.7 with the 60's no problem.

Its not the tuner its the car. What problems with the car would cause me to run rich?

What's your fuel pressure? What pumps, lines, regulator, etc?

I was running 60's with no issue. Then converted to SD. Too many people running 60's without this issue. I agree with the others and if it's not the tuner, a good tuner would be able to look at the logs and everything else and determine the problem with the car, which still falls back on the tuner.

stock lines and reg. walbro 255l intank racetronix kit. With seka 60lb injectors. again It had holley 42 lbs in it. WQith the 42 lbs it was still running a little rich. The tuner said it seems like my BPV is staying closed. ( its not) Its like the MAF is reading a ton more air then it should. And when i added the FMIC it started running super rich. He leaned it out 15%.

I installed the FMIC about 4 months b4 this tune. And b4 the new injectors.

My BPV is a big red ati . and its b4 the MAF. Now i do have a MAF extension

well he said " your MAF is weird get a MAP sensor and bring it back" No matter what he did he couldnt get the car to run any leaner then 10.0 at idle. He said my car is a pig. It had this problem with the first tune. But i only had 42 lbs.

So if he was good he would have simply shut off the maf and seen if he could get the car to idle correctly in SD mode. If he is sure its the maf then eliminating it from the equation only makes common sense.

i dont know if he did that. What other reasons could be making the car running rich.

it's very hard to say without seeing datalogs.

it did it with your other injectors so I would feel safe it's not a stuck injector or the like.

fuel pressure sounds normal.

so top 3 for me.

faulty tune
faulty maf
faulty map

all of which a decent tuner should be able to debug pretty quickly looking at logs and the tune.

Yea he went right to the MAF. This car was always acting funny. Im going to pick up a new IAT just because of the SD tune. And im replacing the map AND NERFING the MAF.

cool, bummer he just didn't test that off the bat and made you go thru all this, but the end result sounds pretty fun to me.
