check valve behind LS6 manifold The check valve behind the manifold on a camaro, that hooks up to where the map sensor is, I removed it so i could tap in my boost gauge , what is that check valve for? Is it ok to remove it?

If it's the valve I think you are talking about it controls the HVAC controls. The vent's work off vacuum. Since the engine vacuum constantly raises/lowers they put in a check valve so it can only pull vacuum one way and not let it back out.
It's like sucking on a straw and putting your tongue over the end of it so the soda doesn't go back down the straw.

When you remove it you wont be able to use the blend controls. You wont be able to pick dash, or feet, or windshield. it will just come out in the 1 position. I dont remember where, i want to say on the windshield but not sure.
