Well the 2500 dollar turbos run ball bearing, water cooled and run larger housings which may make more power. Other then that its not (a lot) of difference. But some people like the added spool up with the ball bearing and the added HP they get from the larger housings. Its all about personal preference.

Ahh, the dreaded 6 speed lag. You running manifolds and wrapped exhaust? If you are spooling up 4000 on a POS dynojet you should be seeing full boost in 4th on the street 500-1000 rpms sooner, which would make your setup not laggy at all.
