A properly designed yes. There is no Main girdle available for retail sale that you can buy and install in your garage that is worth a ****. There are two places I know you can get a main girdle done and both need your motor.

the main girdle will not solve cap walk,it will fix main cap twist,these are two totally different things.

here are some pics of me pinning Fireball's main the other day

Every block we produce for world products; sbc, bbc, mopar 340, hemi 426 and ford are all hollow dowels holes are reamed to .6246+- .0005 and 1/2 13 main stud hole in the center. the pins them selves are .6230 o/d .5200 i/d.

You will see it on the block where the cap sits at and on the seating surface of the cap. The metal will not look cleanly machined on these surfaces, will look like there is some rubbing going on.

Is this AS big of a problem with an iron block?? I've been at 650rwhp for 3 years now and am upping the boost this year. I've been thinking about pulling the motor next year for a refresh, should I consider this?
