The TC78 we sell, does not make a difference in sound whether its BB or not. The internal bearing structure has no effect audibly. The TC78 will make big power, spool super fast, and can be bought with divided housing, 3" DP, 3.5" or 4" DP......it has a wealth of no cost options.

We have made 650whp/650wtrq through a unlocked stalled auto and 22's w/o trouble, on a TC76. At 20psi it went 11.0@127 at 5850lbs on the 22's, est. whp would be about 775 give ore take some. We put a TC78 on it now with a 1.15 a/r we will see how it does.

Oh did I mention 10psi on the foot brake before 3000rpm lol, no 2 step action either.

Allright I was on you're website and under TC78 it just offers F1 trim and BB. What ARs are available in the TC78. Also what is you're opinion on going with a divided or non divided housing? I only have room for a 3.5 inch downpipe so I would be limited to that.

You will want this turbo- TC78, F1-Strim, .96A/R undivided, 3.5" DP if that is the DP you desire. Don't worry about BB (ball bearing)

The differences are the backing plate, cover, ...etc. The TC78 and T78 are the most similar. The GTM-78 is the race cover version of the TC78 and T78. The Super T78 is a the larger turbine wheel unit that uses the mid-frame S-trim...which is even larger turbine wheel, but only available in BB.

I know whether ball bearing turbos spool faster etc is debated if I am not oposed to spending the extra money are there any drawbacks of ball bearing vs journal bearing? Would one bearing type be more suitable for the harsh environment of anti lag/ 2 step? I'm told the journal bearing turbos are A LOT cheaper to rebuild if something breaks, is that true? If so I guess that would be one reason to go journal bearing over ball bearing.

One more thing, this doesn't really pertain to just the TC78 but what differences are seen between divided and undivided housings?

I'm trying to learn as much as I can!

Divided and undivided is used for split manifolds that are tuned for pulses of the motor. You don't need that. Also the journal bearings are alot cheaper overall cost and rebuild cost as well.
