Default Which stall convertor for big boost???

I'm currently running a Yank SS3600 convertor with my cam only setup and it works great. In a month or so, I'm going to have a Forged motor and F1C Procharger running around 18# of boost and was wondering will this convertor hold 750rwhp+?

Will I need a muti disc convertor? If so, then should I get the 3-disc or 5-disc? Maybe a Yank PY3400 or PY3600 would also work???

Thanks in advance!

Most big hp higher boost guys run tighter convertors. You dont really need a multi disc as locking it up under power probably isnt a good idea anyways with that much power. Id go with a 3000-3200 precision or ptc. Actually id run what you have, then make a change.

Most boosted yank guys seem to run sc3000 or yank py 3400e. I am leaning to the yank py 3400e ,seeing quite a few fast cars running it into the 9s at 140 so it seems to work not too bad.

Your converter was designed to work with your n/a combination, and you really should buy another converter for your new combination. There is a very good chance that you will drive through your current converter, and it can ruin the converter and sometimes the transmission can end up with shavings in it. Bob

So maybe the PY3400 or even the PY3600 is in order for my setup? Anyone have any experience with Yank's PY line of convertors?

Or the 5-disc Vig convertor since it's about the same price as the PY and it has 5-disc?

Thanks!

i just ordered a py3400 for mine but i havent run it yet. Yank told me that 3600 was the best to go with unless you are going to make a boatload of power then get the 3400. from what i understood the s/c 3000 is pretty much the same convertor as the PY series only its tighter to make up for a lot of low end torque associated with large blowers. Best just to call whoever your getting the convertor from and let them tell you what you need
