I wouldnt say turbo rebuild yet. You may need a oil restrictor in your oil feed line. Is your return oil pump working also?

back when i had my custom rear mount i had to put a check valve in the feed line. Check what hunter mentioned above and you should be good. Turbo rebuild should be the last option i think. good luck

as far as i know the return oil pump is working... as i was tracking down where my kit came from... its been through 4 owners.... so... i've already spent 600 bucks on parts that it was suppose to come with but didnt...

Thats what sucks about buying kits second hand. I had to spend over 1800 on custom and extra parts on my TTI kit that i purchased off a guy that said that every thing was there. I agree with the check valve it would be the first place i would start since it is far cheaper then a rebuild. If that does not fix your problem then i would consider a rebuild or replacement. For horse power a lot depends on your set up and how much boost you are running. I dont know a hole lot about the STS kits but with injectors and a good tune i would say 500 should be in your reach. A good cooling system (air to air intercooler or chemical cooler) might also be a good upgrade if you dont have them already.

Never crossed your mind as to why it's been through 4 owners with only 3k miles? I'll bet they had the say issues as you and got tired of it and sold it. Scavenge pump set-ups are a PITA. First check the drain line/pump and ensure thats working properly. Possibly replace the return line with clear line, i found some at Home Depot to use temp. so i could watch the oil flow. After that possibly try a restrictor in the feed line. If not, oil it probably just blowing through your turbo in need of a rebuild. Best of luck getting it squared away.

As for power, all depends on how much boost it sees. If it ends up around 8 psi, i would say you'll be pretty close to 500 on a dynojet through your A4.

check out the STS threads, lots of info on fixing this problem. Are you sure the pump is running? I had a problem where the wire you tap into from the pcm didn't have enough power to always trigger the relay.

Also make sure your return line from the turbo to the pump has the loop like a P trap exactly like in the manual.

Replace both the wire harness relays. +2 on the check valve, The reason I say replace the relays they collect water inside them and go in and out even when driving the car.
