As long as you drive like you are in a funeral procession you'll be okay. Bob

wait a month, and get it tuned. it will be very tempting to step on it once you have the turbo on. if you are short on funds the last thing you want to do is rebuild your short block. good luck

if your going to have to baby it all over the place you should just wait to put the sts stuff on. Why put it on when you wont be able to use it?

I doubt he could get it to run only 1lb of boost without a major boost leak (which would cause the turbo to over spin anyways...)

I'd say if you can make time to get it on right before the tune go that route. But if you must get it on now to make sure you have enough time to wrap everything up for your tune then do that. But just make sure whatever you do, drive the car as little as possible, and also make sure you have a boost gauge to monitor whether or not you are hitting boost or not... I know I can feel it before I can even see it on my gauge as boost so I wouldn't be worried. But a newb to FI I'd be hesitant...

Just take the wastegate off and you wont make any boost, it will just sound like you have a big exhaust leak.

You should wait till you all the supporting mods to go along with it. If you have to pull out in traffic or something makes you get on the car you can risk damaging the motor. Does not sound like a good idea to me.

= boost with untuned PCM.

= boost with tuned PCM.

Should be a no brainer.....and trust me there is NO ONE not ONE fool alive that will keep his foot out of it once a form of FI is bolted to the car....the temptation is too great

what they said ^^^

Also about your boost control question.... no. You cannot go any lower than your spring pressure, only higher. If you have a 5 psi spring, you can use a MBC to raise it, but you won't be able to go below that 5. Hope this helps!

Watch your EGT or AFR. If you do not have either, stay out of boost.

If there's anything I've learned while working on cars(or doing anything for that matter), it's to be patient and be prepared. I would wait. When I get my kit on(soon), I'm going to wait for a good tune. The wastegate off would work, but will you actually do that? lol.
