Default GT67 STS kit...What converter would work best?

Hey I am converting my Trans am from 6spd to 4l60e. I am running the sts kit with a gt67 turbo. .81ar. and 3.42 gears. stock 10 bolt with 295 bfg gforce ta (tires are 26" tall) I can get a smoking deal on a tcs 2800 stall converter and was wondering if this is enough converter for my set up. Thanks,C

I had the same setup awhile back. I had a yank 3600 stall that worked out great. 2800 is to small IMO.

I agree, I had a 2600 with the old 60e and could not build any boost. I would go at least 3200.

You guys must have some serious lag issues if you can't build boost on a 2800 rpm stall. My car with the 1.00 a/r 80mm turbo would build more boost than the brakes could hold (5-6psi at the track) with my 2800.

Must be a tune thing. My tune has always been super conservative, but soon it will be tuned the way I want it. And ditching the long tubes.

A lower stall would build more boost wouldn't it? Placing more load on the motor at a lower rpm? I've run both a 3000 stall and a 3500 stall on a sts W/gt67 3.73 rear and the 3000 being a tighter converter went from vacuum to boost quicker.
