Default Supercharger Cam Selection

Hey All,
I am building a forged 6.0(9:1 compression) for my 00 Silverado z71. It's my DD so I'm not looking for peak power as much as I am low end grunt. Originally I was thinking about going with a turbo so I did some reading and picked up a 227/224 .580/.580 114 cam. I liked this cam because it had zero overlap(necessary for turbo app) but was also a fairly large increase over an ls6 cam or the like. After some thinking I have been investigating a roots type supercharger like the new TVS series to give me more power down low with zero lag. How will this cam work in a supercharger application? With zero overlap I shouldnt bleed any boost off, but most of the off the shelf cams for supercharged applications have alot more exhaust duration. My target horsepower wise is only 550rwhp or so. With that low of a number I feel like i really shouldnt even be that concerned about the cam. Thoughts?

Lots of people are going with EPP's 232/240 cam
http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=679
Comp recommended a 236/ 242 LSA 114+2 for my 403
I went with a 228/242 114+2 with the thinking that I'll be using a twin screw instead of a procharger.

One thing I would change for sure compared to what you have now is the exhaust bias. Comp said they like 6 degrees of bias to the exhaust with aftermarket cathedral port heads. EPP's cam is doing good with double that.
Good luck!!

If you want low end torque in a truck, I wouldn't bother with that cam, even with a positive displacement blower. Even an LS6 cam will be soggy down low in a heavy vehicle, trust me I know. Stick to something in the LS1 cam range imo. Plenty of hp can be made with a tiny cam.

You can always go with a the tried and true LPE GT2-3 cam. Makes great power with no loss do driveability. I have been running this cam for awhile now and do not plan on changing anytime soon.

The cam you have will work, but it is not ideal with a tvs blower. For a heavy vehicle I would suggest a small duration cam with lots of lift and a tight lsa! Don't worry about overlap, get your valve events where they need to be and let everything fall in place. Consult with a cam manufacturer or a cam designer or just copy a proven combo.
I'm no expert but I would suggest something like a 218/226 .605/.585 112+2
Also, the 9:1 compression seems a bit low, how much boost are you planning on?

I'm planning on running enough boost to make 550 to the wheels. I think a tvs1900 can get me there. The better question is why wouldnt I run 9:1? I think that gives me alot more flexibility down the road with the motor. Thanks for the ideas on the cam. I'll have to make a decision on which way I want to go before I seal it all up.
