Stupid FI + EVAP question

Hey all,

I don't know why I was just thinking about this, but should a FI setup always delete the evap line? Doesn't the boost go back into the tank through the evap line? If so, isn't that an issue?

What evap line?

The evap line is connected to a computer controlled solenoid that only opens when conditions are correct similar to the EGR system. I don't know for sure what the correct conditions are for the valve to open but I have never heard of anyone having an issue with the evap system and boost. The base Vortech and Procharger systems are emissions legal so I assume they do not effect the evap system.

What do you do if you go to the vic jr. setup and there is no provision for it? I mean right now its there but it is not hooked up to the intake anymore. Will venting it to atmosphere matter? what do I do with it?

Well, if you want to keep the system you could connect it anywhere you have vacuum on the intake. I think most people just do away with the whole system. If you vent it to atmosphere you might smell some gas fumes but other than that I don't think it will give you any problems. Mine is just disconnected at the tank. It is not a bad idea to keep the system though. It doesn't hurt anything other than the looks of the engine.
