We have customers ordering twin scroll turbos now all the time. Looks like the quick spool valve is the new "it" word.

I'm going to sell mine, starting a for sale thread right now. Would be good for someone looking for a flange right now as I'm sure Richard is backed up! This is certainly a nice piece, just going a different direction with my truck and turbo for the time being. I'll link the for sale thread.

Nope... company went belly up! They almost made off with my $ and no valve. The company that invented the valve, Sound Performance, now has a patent and nobody inside the U.S. can sell it other than them. Can you say "Ebay from China?"

Sound Performance are a bunch of liars, they did not invent it. These have been around for at least 7 years. I've talked to the guy who originally built one and used it on a Datsun. Patent won't hold up and they'll go bankrupt trying to fight it.

I do consider the valve to still be worth it even at $500, even at sound performances price and would buy another through them if I need one. I do think they would sell more at a $400 price point though.

$400 is still @zz rape! They could sell them for $250 easily. All it is is a thick T3 or T4 flange with a wastegate actuator built on to it. No way it costs $100 for that company to even make them! All you are paying for is the technology which is simple at best but very, very effective. A bunch of us on the fullthrottlev6 website had discussed this some time ago.

are there any updates with issues with these Quick spool valves? Are there other manufacturers? I am interested in this but i am not willing to pay 500 bucks for this. I am looking before i do one myselt. I have a wastegated housing sitting around so almost all parts are there....

thanks

Default Qsv

That's the problem with SP their price. The only people buying them at $500 are rich dudes. If they lowered the price the word would get out and they could sell these things like HOTCAKES. Anytime someone talks about this QSV their is always a debate of twin scroll manifold which is better. That wouldn't be the case if the price was lower more people would be willing to give this a shot. It really does not make sense to me. They better do something before somebody rips off their design and sells them cheaper.

There have been cheaper ones out there from the beginning. I have had a few versions that did not work very well.
