how much tuning problems do you have?
how much tuning problems do you have? from what I'm gathering everybody running more than 6-9 psi is having a hell of a time tuneing there car, has anybody found a good tuneing path that will make the FI set up work like a charm on an ls1?

Re: how much tuning problems do you have? I don't think 'work like a charm' and 'tuning' go in the same sentence here. Getting it close isn't hard, it's sweating the details that annoys the hell out of you. Maybe one day we'll have a guide that would map it out, but I don't think we are there yet, as far as private owners.
Re: how much tuning problems do you have? If you START with a good fuel system, tuning isnt that hard. I did all mine on the street. Once i got to the dyno, I hardly made any changes. Now that the LM-1 wideband is out, it is even easier.
I would think a s/c is really easy since the power comes on kind of gradually. With a turbo, you have to deal with the big torque spike but that's really no biggie if you know where your boost starts and where it maxes. SVO42# injectors make it easy as well. For anybody with 600 rwhp or less, that's the injectors to get.

Re: how much tuning problems do you have? As far as getting it close that is not too difficult. I have done numerous FI cars and picked up alot of power on nearly every one. However every setup is different, the charger, the type, ic or no ic, the cam, gearing, shift points, injectors, etc, and so on. Once you have experience with a given setup there are conclusions that can be drawn and you have a library of experience.
IMHO I think there are quite a few people that are well versed in this area and if there are any doubts I always recommend that my customers get datalogged of jump up on the dyno.
The tuners job is very difficult but when there is proper judgement executed the results are extremely effective
