according to vortech i can run the stock BPV that came with the kit is this true ?? im only running 6lbs of boost but its a procharger
from the site
When should a standard air bypass valve be used?
A standard air bypass valve should be used on all supercharged applications where the supercharger is making more than 6PSIG. The advantages of using an air bypass valve includes eliminating compressor surge (the noise heard during deceleration) for quieter supercharger operation, and reduced heat soak in the discharge tube and the supercharger.
When should a race air bypass valve be used?
Any supercharger system that is operating in excess of 10 PSIG requires installation of a race air bypass valve to prevent compressor surge. All V-1 R, V-1 T, V-7, V-3, and V-4 superchargers require a mondo air bypass valve.

So how do you know what spring pressure you need? Let's say I have a turbo setup running 15psi, which spring would I use?

You rate the spring pressure of a BOV by your vacuum at idle. You divide your idle vac /2 and that should be about the spring rate you need in PSI.

that is correct for turbo cars. For SC cars you need to use the 6lb or 3lb spring for stock motor cars, and the 3lb spring for cammed/built cars. I just ordered a new Tial Q today actually (had a regular 50mm once before). I currently have the Vortech Mondo, and its not big enough for my setup. So, ill use both, with the mondo on the tight side. For your car, you running a P1, 600B or what? what motor and mods? For a P1 or s-trim vortech the stock valves are fine. A maxxed s-trim, t-trim ysi, or a D1, F1 i would go with a bigger valve like the Tial Q, procharger race bypass, or vortech bv-57. Tial sounds the best and is cheap too.

I have run NUMEROUS Turbosmart Raceports on Supercharged applcations.

The correct spring is critical because, Prochargers especially, need to bleed off air close to idle.

Turbosmart Products are the best on the market. Not only because of the price, but because of the customer service, the longevity, and the overall finish of the product.

Best Boost Controller - TS Eboost II
Best 38mm WG - TS 38mm Ultragate
Best 60mm WG - TS 60mm Powergate
Best 50mm+ BOV - TS 52mm Raceport

Im also testing the new Vee Port. Smaller than its predecesor, but apparently flows more and sounds great. We'll see, its going on the typhoon with 15psi.

here you go
Select the following spring pressures based on engine vacuum reading:

0 to -7 in/HG (or supercharger) use 3 PSI Spring (Pink)
-8 to -11 in/HG use 6 PSI Spring (Black)
-12 to -15 in/HG use 8 PSI Spring (White)
-16 to -19 in/HG use 10 PSI Spring (Silver)
-20 to -21 in/HG use 11 PSI Spring (Purple)

thats great for turbos, HE HAS A SUPERCHARGER, only a couple people have noticed that it seems. You MUST run a 3lb or 6lb spring like i stated above with a SC.

Ive had my tial Q on for about 2 weeks and its awesome. I have a 6lb spring cause im too cheap to buy the 3lb, and there is no problems with it. I run about 12-13inHg at idle and it is a good halfway open. God damn, this thing is loud as hell, my GF hates it. BUT, no more pipes blowing off, very quick release on the shifts as well

I have a TiAl 50mm BOV on my car, but I'm selling it next week to be replaced by a Vortech Mondo, it's a great piece though.

At that low boost you can use the factory BPV
