Default Rotrex Supercharger kit (W2W)

So the truck has been for sale since about April of 2008 because I want to buy an HD with a Duramax.

My truck is a 2006 Chevy signature series RST. White with hugger orange stripes, Jon Moss signed gauges, orange houndstooth/orange stitched black leather. 1 of 200 blah blah

I refuse to let the economy sway me to give my truck away and since it's been for sale and I work overseas mostly I have had some self control and not modded it.

Here's the rundown of what it's got:

Stock 5.3/A4
W2W's non-intercooled Rotrex supercharger kit. The blower is the C38 model I believe and is supposed to be capable of supporting 600hp.
JBA coated shorties that come with all RST trucks.

Here's what I'd like to do because honestly I'm bored with it but there's no sense in giving it away.

I need an intercooler. When W2W was around they had this kit with an air to water intercooler. I hope one of them sees this and gives me a shout! Otherwise, the best option I believe would be custom plumbing for my own intercooler...prob air to air.

I would also like to know what pulley size I need to get for this in order to run 8-9 psi on a stock 5.3.

I don't know what pulley it came with (installation was done @ W2W) and it has no boost gauge so I have no idea how much boost it's seeing. If it helps it put down 300rwhp and 335tq last time it was on the dyno.

This was through the JBA shorties, stock catted Y, and a flowmaster.
^That will get upgraded to longtubes, non catted duals with magnaflow bullets.

I'm really just hoping to at least sneak up on 400rwhp/400tq. Anyone that can help me out with the oddball supercharger stuff, let me know. Thanks!

I'm not going to be much help here but it must not be seeing more than 2-3lbs at 300rwhp. I'll trade you trucks :-D

you would be better off building your own intercooler setup,

the pulleys might be a problem but you could always take them to a machine shop and they could make the smaller ones for you

There's a guy on P-T.net's dyno thread making 500/500 with the same supercharger but I don't know if he ever gets on there much. It's a capable system..I just need to know who to go to for support.

Two reasons I like it better than a D-1 or Maggie.

1- I already own it.

2- It's ABSOLUTELY silent. You wouldn't know it if you had your ear by the grill at WOT.

Gotta remember too though, that was through the shorties (no gain over stock in my opinion) and the restrictive as hell stock cats/Y and a 1-in 2-out flowmaster. Oh yeah, through the 20" wheels. I think just LTs and duals without cats and a more aggressive tune alone will free up over 30 hp easy if not more.

Look at the size of this pulley!

Thanks inspector. I was wondering if he still dealt with these. I'll give him a shout sometime.

If you are lookin to bump the boost on that small pully why not get an Oversized crank pully... there are a few out there.

Which C38 model is it, the -61, -71 or -81? Each has a different flywheel HP range.

that is an excellent question DeltaT. I'm overseas right now so I couldn't tell you. I'm almost positive that W2W used -71s on their GM truck kits.

Here's a data sheet for them. It lists the 61, 71, and 81. The 71's range is from 350-590hp.

It had had a 71 on it. It also had a few minor upgrades on the trans for pressure and the 1-2 servo has been replaced. The cal in that truck was very conservative to protect the engine.

Ha! The man himself. Glad you remembered it. I figured that the tune was pretty conservative being non-intercooled. PM coming your way Kurt.
