The race cars, are probably all running 100% meth.....meaning they run on
m100 as fuel. No gasoline, and big boost numbers ussually becasue of teh fuel, and the cooling the fuel gives.

The street cars.....well, some want to start somewhere. About 100% of them are very low boost, like 5 psi and pretty dangerous as far as it might get hurt factor imo.

There is a local guy on a message board that runs twins with no intercooler on his car. Believe it or not, the car hauls the mail! Granted, the car gets heat soaked fast, and he has toyed with meth at the track. Generally, he just runs no meth though.

No intercoolers are only a good idea on full blown alky race cars. I wouldnt chance it at all.

Nobody's mentioned a blow through carb setup. Granted, an intercooler will always be more efficient than none at all (granted it flows enough cfm) but there are plenty of people going fast, making great power, on a properly setup blow through with no intercooler.

Blow through carbs are a diffrent animal all together. Thats a diffrent school of thought, but I am still well versed in it. The Temps of the Fuel from a carb is not as high as the fuel temps in a EFI situation. Fuel delivery from a carb plays a big role in keeping the IAT temps down. Blow though stuff is fun. EFI is more controlable IMO...

Lots of cars dont run intercoolers, but they are definitely "mild" builds to say the least.

I ran 12 psi on a 370 with no I/C. Cr was about 8-1. Went 11.35@118 with a t67 STS kit. This was in a 4500 lb truck. Drove it on the street as a DD.

Well we have a car that doesn't have an intercooler. It is more of a race car but it runs on 93 pump with 2 meth nozzles. It run 5.60's in the 1/8th @ 129 foot brakeing it leaving off 2 psi. Anyway 60 degrees ambeint with meth the IAT dropped to 45. So I would say if you don't want to run an intercooler then you would need meth. Here are some pics.

Some of you guys are just saying "No intercooler here," but not saying anything else...

Specify what fuel, meth/no meth injection, etc. so it could make sense.

I run both FMIC+methanol...
