Procharger problems and reliability poll

After reading the first page it looks like procharger upgrades their units, so how do I know I'm getting the latest model procharger? (D1SC made in 2010 is not the same as D1SC made in 2005 is my point)

If you're buying a used one, call ProCharger with the serial number and they'll look it up for you.

I put a p1sc kit on a stock lt1 m6 car with 30k mi back in 03'. The "kit" itself was JUNK! The head unit was nice, but alot of issues needed to be addressed in the kit itself... starting from the rubber j-bend hose, shitty dryer hose that attatched to the supercharger, the fan spacers needed recmachined, the pulley's on the j-bracket did not lign up causing thrown belts, the fmu and inline fuel pump was garbage, the pcv system was not addressed correctly... etc! I can keep goin on but ill stop there. After all of these issues were corrected, the car ended up making 426whp 430wtq @ 8psi on stock manifolds. Shortly after that I found out #8 hole had a cracked ring(should of originally had it dyno tuned instead of using that FMU Bullshit). I was out of money at that point and sold the charger and built a 383, wich made almost as much power and ended up being more reliable lol. Now I will say procharger made alot of updates to the lt1 kit since that time and i do believe the ls1 stuff has always worked well. Moral of the story is buy a tuner kit and build the rest yourself... those complete kits are bandaids. Do not use a fmu or inline pump as most know now! Get it dynotuned... tuning is critical on FI!

Damn sorry to here that. I have about 10,000 miles on D1SC so far. And other than some belt slip and that infamous dust its been trouble free. I change my belt, motor oil and blower oil every three thousand miles. Dont know if this helps but makes me sleep better at night.

There's 30,000 miles on my D1, I have 24,000 of those miles installed on my C5. Only problem I've had in four years, was an idler pulley failed two years ago last month.
