The cross over feeds the back of the log (back of head), so yes, everything is in the log, then flange.

Looks like I need to take a pressure reading and remake the kit possibly.

Yeah not a good thing at all. Essentially you have all 8 cylinders flowing through 1 3" log and also 4 pulses coming out of the motor causing turbulence at the same time for the gas coming from the crossover.

A back pressure test would help show if its the main problem right?

What is strange is there has to be at least a half dozen kits out there made this way? If this is the wrong way how in the heck is everyone else pulling this off?

Alot of the old TTI kits for the LT1's are still around...never seen one make over 600 even with a 76mm turbo. So I guess people just settle....

So best bet is to get any & all hot side tubing as close to the turbo flange as possible?

Not meaning to get off track from the OP but I will/am going to build damn near the same exact setup.

Ya, and KB (I think), his kits looks very close to how mine came out, I found that out after I built/installed my kit.

lol to be honest, I hate the way the exhaust tone sounds. A friend of mine had a log set up on a LT1 car, we never tried to push it real far, but we are guessing that it was close to 500rwhp, and it sounded very similar to how my car does now.

The gears are already turning in my head on how to pull off a clean looking manifold set up, or header kit.

This is pretty much the finished product, I covered the PCM, and added a 4" coupler and filter. I did not have the room for truck manifolds pointed forward, and never tried the 02 Fbody manifolds I have pointed forward, so I built it this way instead.

Your kit looks similar to truck turbo kit built by nelson performance and kb racing. They have no issues with one manifold feeding the log on the other side where the turbo is mounted!

My first turbo kit on my 01 ws6 was the old qmp kit. Pretty much a log setup like the tti street kit or like your kit. Ya its not the most effective but its plenty for most street cars.

Mine made 560whp on a mustang dyno with a 9inch and a4. I went 10.8 with a 3800lb car so it wasnt a bad kit.

I dont think it would have made much more power but it worked okay for how simple and cheap it was.

Okay so back to you problem. As i was saying i was having your exact issue with my old log kit as well as my less restrictive c6/6.0truck mani kit with open wastegate.

Last week i replaced the patriot golds with about 10k for some brand new patriot gold extremes. I took it out last night and did a 60mph to 120mph run in 3rd gear and it sounded about 75% better.

About an hour ago i swapped some coils off a 2007 6.0 truck motor and did 3 back to back 60-120mph runs at about 11.5psi.

All popping and misfiring sound is gone. I took it up to about 6500rpm and it was really smooth and sounded good

I hope you are speaking of only this kit, I am in the process of installing a front mount T76 on my LT1, but this kit has headders, I am going from supercharged to turbo, On the supercharger it made 648 RWHP on the pump, I was hoping to make more on the turbo, I sure would hate to go backwards...

Have you put it on the dyno to see if the power falls off?

Ya mine shows no signs of trouble at all, I can feel it lay over a bit when in 2nd or 3rd, first goes too quick. The dyno really was the first time I had reason to think the car was not pulling uptop like it should.

I am thinking turbo kit as well for my issue.

Anyone make good power on a LS1 intake? Im sure it is not the issue, just want to rule it out for sure.

My car was the same way. 1st and 2nd went by too fast, but in 3rd you could feel the car lay down past 5krpm..

I would change the pump before the intake. Make sure you change the fuel filter as well.

Little update, no progress yet really. Dropped the trans, it was burned up again, converter has crap in it, when unbolted from the flexplate and spun you could hear crap falling down the sides as you spun it over, and sounded like something was "flicking" the fins. Sent the converter off to have it rebuilt/repalced, and am currently waiting for parts to get the 4l80 rebuilt with a different FMVB set up.

Also bought another 255 to do the dual intank set up, and a pressure gauge for the exhaust side.

Hopefully in 2-3 weeks I will have the trans issue worked out, and can start looking at why power drops off.
